Post Tuesday Numbers
http://www.boxofficemojo.com/daily/char ... -13&p=.htm

1 THE CHRONICLES OF NARNIA: THE LION, THE WITCH AND THE WARDROBE $4,026,675 -12.5% / $1,114 $74,186,139
2 SYRIANA $1,002,493 -5.2% / $572 $15,296,374
3 HARRY POTTER AND THE GOBLET OF FIRE $705,380 1.6% / $189 $245,469,136
4 WALK THE LINE $544,054 8.4% / $179 $78,037,228
5 AEON FLUX $353,623 -4.8% / $136 $20,943,399
6 PRIDE AND PREJUDICE $310,000 (estimate) 8.8% / $232 $27,068,000
7 JUST FRIENDS $285,000 (estimate) 3.6% / $116 $26,933,000
8 YOURS, MINE AND OURS $226,434 9.8% / $71 $41,251,943
9 RENT $181,211 2.4% / $92 $27,274,071
10 CHICKEN LITTLE $145,509 15.9% / $63 $127,551,203
- BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN $99,152 -4% / $19,830 $749,833
- MEMOIRS OF A GEISHA $79,102 -6.1% / $9,888 $845,856

Narnia already shows some sign of frontloadness.

Brokeback Mountain is already so saturated at each theater that 7 GG noms didn't really boost its gross.

Syriana's number isn't in yet.

Hmm... where's Harry Potter???

Big drop for Narnia.

Excellent increases for Walk the Line and Pride & Prejudice which are probably due to the Golden Globe noms!! Congrats to them.

PEACE, Mike.

Wow. Aeon Flux will similar flop like DOOM. Bad times for comic/game movies. The market is full. In future only the big names will survive.

Well, for Narnia it is a Family Film so maybe that was partial cause for it's drop but will be more steady at the end of this week when most children will be on Christmas break.

Family films normally do well on Tuesdays, like Chicken Little and YMO are showing. I think this does show the frontloadness nature of first week. I expect next Tuesday and Tuesdays after that, it will start behaving like a normal family film.

Wow. Look at those PTA's for Brokeback and Geisha, but just  @ Brokeback.
I just saw Monday number too, that's why I'm surprised. I know it should have been expected but still 19,000+ on a Tuesday!
That's more than 10 times the combined PTA's of the top 10 ;)

OUCH!

Narnia's chances at 200 million are going way down the drain.

Not exactly. After Christmas, it will see a boost in grosses, so it will still get hurt by the gorilla, but after that, it can run free.

The awards season spike for Walk the Line is nice! Really nice for Good Night, and Good Luck, too. More of you guys should check that one out.

Nice to see Pride & Prejudice increase with its noms (most likely). I hope it continues to hold well throughout the week and into the weekend.

Big support for Walk the Line and Pride and Prejudice. 8%+ for a lackluster Tuesday holding. The real winner? Good Night and Good Luck shot up 21%.
