Post The Kranks are "cheaper by the dozen".
That's right, I am predicting that Christmas With The Kranks will be this year's Cheaper By the Dozen. Any takers? Any predictions? Perhaps a thread is already devoted this, but I'm just too lazy to look. That's why we have mods with modding powers to close duplicates.

Opening weekend: $31.7m
Total gross: $125.4m

This looks so much like a rip-off of Christmas vacation.
It will do good numbers.

30/115.

Nope, there are no threads on this movie.

And yes, I completely agree. I believed for a long time that this was this year's Cheaper By The Dozen. Except for the release date, they're are pretty much the same. This will do a little less, because Cheaper By The Dozen had Christmas to help it, while Kranks will be almost done when Christmas comes around.

Opening: $25.0 ($37.0 5-day)
Total: $114.5

Yeh i totally agree. it looks way more appealing than CBTD did!

Plus TIM ALLEN and JAMIE LEE CURTIS have drawing power!

Hard to predict, but over $100M anyways

No, this is not Cheaper by the Dozen. Sadly, I think Fat Albert is going to be more like it than this.

Christmas with the Kranks
Opening: $24.2
Total: $106.0

I agree with Mr. X on this one. The trailers have gotten positive reaction, and it is based on a popular book (as was Cheaper). Unlike other kids movies, this one has adult appeal, mainly for the author himself (Mr. Jurrassic Park). Kids are appalled, families will go see it, Christmas theme help too (especially on Thanksgiving weekend, when people are most in the spirit). We could see a sleeper here.

I think it's more likely to be this years The Santa Clause or Elf than it does Cheaper By The Dozen. Tim Allen + family Christmas movie = $$$!! My guess is, it'll end with about $140 million. Maybe more, maybe less. Who knows? God. God knows.

Tim Allen and the cast are doing the talk show circuit this week (at least on Regis and Kelly) which is a good sign for promotion. Plus, it's Tim Allen and Christmas! What more can someone ask for?

Well, I guess it can be both, since both did about the same amount.

Wasn't Joe Somebody released around Christmas time?

Well, that's not really a Christmas movie, but still.

Then can it be this years Bad Boys 2 as well?

I'd rather not see Jamie Lee Curtis' "ghetto booty".

Are you kidding? She's the ultimate milf! After the mom in The Wonder Years of course.

Hell, it can be this year's I, Robot. And that makes no sense, because we already have an I, Robot of this year. It's called I, Robot!
