I don't know about Wallace & Gromit. It's pretty much the only wide kids film in a while, it's getting raving reviews, and it does a have fanbase of some sort, no? Sounds like another Corpse Bride to me. It should be able to get around $18 million this weekend.

Corpse had pretty crappy marketing aswell imo, wasnt funny at all. Looked good to some because Burton was involved, thats it.

This whole weekend appears to be s-h-i-t for movies.. I think Wallace and Grommit will get around 11 Million for the weekend.. I'm just not connecting with this movie like many of you appear to be doing and it just seems overall slow at the theatre right now to where this movie won't make much of a difference.... Thank God I don't go to the movies every weekend and see every new release..

At first I thought "Maybe he went with 6+ million?" but after remembering how it got placed in your 90-seater, I'm guessing you're thinking it'll be a 2.5 million or less bomb.

My predictions; fashionably late as always.

Quote:
The real one to watch this frame is Cameron Diaz's "In Her Shoes". Now; normally when a female lead films is released; there is dissapointment. Especially in romantic comedies. Reese Witherspoon recently failed to open "Just Like Heaven" to industry expectations; Jennifer Garner couldn't push "13 Going on 30" to the heights it deserved, Nicole Kidman couldn't send "Bewitched" flying and various other actresses from Sandra Bullock to Julia Roberts have realised that a strong male or ensemble is needed to give a film commercial appeal - even if this may sacrifice the challenge of the roles taken.

Thankfully for Diaz; "In Her Shoes" has two strong female stars who are also being promoted by the film and its elements of drama mean word of mouth will be more important than star power once the show gets on the road. The marketing has been sharp and the director is very well respected; all of this points to a long and prosperous run for the well reviewed picture - which boasts a 72% rating on Rottentomatoes

1. Wallace and Gromit - $20.9m
2. In Her Shoes - $14.6m
3. Two for the Money $11.0m

Plus i have a sub-50% drop for serenity here;
