Amazing.
Transporter 2 and 40YOV didn't change much.
The Constant Gardener increased 200k to $11M. Very impressive.

Heavier Monday drops this year, but the general trend stays the same with family films (Penguins, Valiant, Sky High, and Charlie) having the best numbers on Monday.

The Brothers Grimm WAYYYYYYYYYY underestimated. Both the projected sunday and monday drops were completely wrong. Impact called it, and was right.
PEACE, Mike.

I thought someone said the theater owners are obligate the keep a movie for at least 2 weeks. So, how were they able to get out of Undiscovered. Since it drop -550 theaters in it's 2nd week.

Simple explanation. Looking at the PTA during the weekdays, the theaters probably had to cancel many shows due to zero attendance.

They are. This is the only exception I have ever seen, and I think it may be because this wasn't a major studio, this was Lions Gate Films, and one of the few films of theirs that was actually wide AND totally bombed. Perhaps Lions Gate was just trying to dump it, and didn't want to force theatres to be under contract for 2 weeks. *shrug* I can't think of anything else.
PEACE, Mike.

Ins't it funny how The Transporter 2 despite being an action movie as well and not having a big star as well still opened above Stealth and The Island? By next Friday, it'll overtake The Transporter's total gross.
Really disappointing hold for The Brothers Grimm, even for the 4-day weekend. Is the WoM really THAT bad?!
The gap between The Wedding Crashers and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is down to less than $6 million which means that The Wedding Crashers will definitely end up higher. I suppose around $2-4 million higher.
Madagascar had an impressive rise this weekend as did Mr. and Mrs. Smith. The former will end just short of $200 million it seems, with $193 million.
Sky High is doing very well still which makes me glad. It approached $60 million and should end with over $65 million, probably brining sequel talks on track.
Four Brothers can be considered one of the susprise hits of the year already. It will end up with around $75 million by the end of its run.

Yes, the WOM for Brothers Grimm really is quite awful. I gave it a C-, and all my friends still thought it was crazy. They unanimously hated it, with over half of them saying it was the worst movie they'd seen all year.

Looked like a very fun popcorn flick. Guess can't have that with Gilliam.

It certainly wasn't a good "popcorn" flick which is also what I was hoping for.
The problem is it has too many characters to keep track of and too many plot shifts that one has to be very much alert during it. I had trouble following it during the first portion. The "German" accents are also terrible which makes it even more difficult to follow.
Personally, I gave it a "B" because it has some good visuals and overall was enjoyable, but it really wasn't all that great.
