The Goonies 2 prediction thread...!
So I'm not sure of the details, but the project might be in the works. All the child actors, including Astin and Feldman, are reunited as adults for one last treasure-hunting adventure. Could be big. Early guess:
54/203 if pumped in summer.
29/115 if off-season in the wings.
Can't wait!

I'll take everyone's numbers combined times by zero.
Reportedly, this project is dead in the water. Director Richard Donner told folks at a press conference last week that proposals for the sequel "didn't live up to the original" and that the film was canned. (Cinematic Happenings Under Development)

Am I missing something, Shack? Who wants this sequel?
And, even if people did, it will never make $200 million total. The original made around $61 million, and if you adjust it, it's $110 million. Why would it almost *double* its adjusted gross and almost make four times as much as its actual gross?
EDIT: BacktotheFuture just answered the second question. No one wants it.

Well the original is very well received. Could be big. Could be flop too but everyone knows the original movie.

Alot of people who are much older and grew up on the movie will surely know it. But much of the younger generation just know it as some sort of movie. Its not the type of movie everyone knows like Star Wars, Indiana Jones, or Back to the Future.

ASs BTTF said, it simply won't get made. It's this kind of a movie that gets planned forever, but it never goes beyond talks.
