Some sort of teen girl romantic comedy.

Brothers Grimm - 9 million
The Cave - 8.5 million (These two will be close. Brothers Grimm has more starpower but looks mostly crap and The Cave is a far easier sell based on having a simple premise and therefore better TV spots).

Undiscovered - 3 million. The marketing is really lacking with this film telling the story of a romance between a wannabe rock star and a wannabe model living in LA. No wonder the original title was in fact, Wannabe. Lions Gate is basically dumping the film, something they usually don't do since they release so few films. This is their first release since 'The Devil's Rejects' back in July.

I think 40 and Red-Eye should be able to retain the top two spots with any luck. They seem to have the WOM to experience small drops.

I think VIRGIN and RED EYE are both going to have very small drops. They have some of the best reviews/word-of-mouth of the summer and I think both might even hit 100 Million by the end of their runs.

BROTHERS GRIMM will probably do about 14 Million or so. There hasn't been much advertising for it.

THE CAVE will do around 10 Million.

UNDISCOVERED will do around 2-3 Million. I've seen NO advertising for it.

40 could have a really small drop. The WOM is pretty much better than WCs, saying its the funniest movie ever and best comedy ever and alot like that.

Brothers-13.5 mil
The Cave-8.5 mil

The latest tracking is showing The Brothers Grimm at $15-16M. That's probably off by a bit, but I'm starting to think it could get at least $13-14M.

Here's all the latest tracking, thanks to notfabio from HSX:

Quote:
ACCURACY LAST WEEKEND:
40 YEAR OLD, MAJOR CHAIN: 21 MILLION, RS 21 MILLION
ACTUAL: 21.4

RED EYE, MAJOR CHAIN: 16, RS 13 MILLION
ACTUAL 16.2

VALIANT: MAJOR CHAIN: 11, RS 11 MILLION
ACTUAL 5.9 (OUCH)

SUPERCROSS: MAJOR CHAIN 4 MILLION RS 6 MILLION
ACTUAL: 2

MAJOR US THEATRE CHAIN:

BROTHERS GRIMM: 19 MILLION
THE CAVE: 7 MILLION
UNDISCOVERED: 2.5 MILLION

REEL SOURCE:

BROTHERS GRIMM: 15 MILLION
THE CAVE: 8 MILLION
UNDISCOVERED: 4 MILLION

UPCOMING REEL SOURCE:
SOUND OF THUNDER: 10 MILLION (FLAT)
JUST LIKE HEAVEN: 28 MILLION (FLAT I think)
TRANSPORTER 2: 12 MILLION (FLAT)
FLIGHT PLAN: 33 MILLION (+2 MILLION)
CORPSE BRIDE: 8 MILLION (DEBUT)

Hmm. Major Chain is usually closer than Reel Source, so that's looking good for The Brothers Grimm. I might have underestimated it's appeal.

Also, the tracking for the upcoming films is looking great. I'd be shocked if A Sound of Thunder made that much opening weekend, though. Transporter 2 looks about right. But, what really caught my eye was Flightplan. That would be in the Panic Room area, which would be awesome.

Like I said in my crowd report for Red Eye, I've seen Flightplan attached to *every* movie in the past month or two. I think it can be a big hit.

The corpse bride tv spots are awful, it's like a behind the scenes thing. I dont know whats up with these type of spots now, it seems everybody is doing it, Island did the samething.
