Theres a high probability that Stealth will be the next one to bomb when action flicks like XXX2 and The Island are bombing badly. Maybe the public is sick of the high octane action type movies

but they were smart as they have both Black and White leads plus a pretty girl.
That should help.

I'm sure the EEOC likes it.

roid, I think Djimon Hounsou's massive fanclub had the weekend off.
Yeah, um, he's not a lead. Jamie Foxx is a recognizable star, which is what The Island needed.
Stealth: $35 million
Must Love Dogs: $15 million
Sky High: $15 million (being underpredicted...)

I love TonyMontana's review of Stealth  . Lets see if the star of Booty Call and the director of the Stallone classic Daylight can pull us out of the slump. I disagree with you about Sky High. Charlie is still doing very well so I can see Sky High doing very badly because of that. Jamie Foxx maybe recognizable but his name isnt being advertised at all for the movie at all and also I heard that he isnt even in half of the movie

I think the action and Jamie Foxx push one higher than the other - especially for the urban crowd - but time will tell.

If Stealth underperformers like The Island (Hoping it does), could Wedding Crashers be number 1 in its third weekend?

It's a possibility, a small one but one none the less. I think MUST LOVE DOGS could take the top spot

Is it just me or is July 29-31 another difficult weekend to predict? It has films that could go either way.
Stealth - This film easily could be the next XXX: State of the Union and 'The Island' or it could be a hit. It features recognizable actors and, unlike 'The Island,' actually communicates its plot within its advertising, which features decent looking action. I am somewhat surprised that Sony has decided to forego promoting it as from the director of 'The Fast and the Furious', etc. They only give a small mention of Rob Cohen's involvement on the poster and nothing in the recent TV spots and other marketing. Reports have it tracking better than 'The Island' but still not doing great. All this leads me to predict the following:
20 million
Must Love Dogs - This is perhaps the easiest film of the weekend to predict as it has a marketable premise that nonetheless isn't likely to attract too wide of an audience.
13-15 million
Sky High - This looks incredibly corny (Reminds me somewhat of an episode of the "Power Rangers" television series with the cheesy-looking costumes). Plus, Disney basically did the same thing last year with their CGI hit 'The Incredibles.' Still, it has the Disney marketing muscle behind it and is a kids film.
10-16 million (Have to wait for exact theatre counts later in the week to pinpoint this one).

WOM for WC is phenomenal and may happen. It should be interesting. I think Stelath probably will make about $24M and I have no clue about Must Love Dogs.

I think Sky High is gonna do good, much like Spy Kids 3-D
Sky High - $31.2M
Stealth - $23.7M
Must Kill Dogs - $15.5M
and obviously
The Aristocrats - $117.9M
take that Spider-Man!

1. Stealth 38 million
2. Sky High 22 million
3. Wedding Crashers 18 million
4. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory 18 million
5. Must Love Dogs 12 million (Like neo wolf said, Wedding Crashers will hurt it, not vica versa)
The problem this weekend was that audience interest collided. Me and my group of friends wanted to see all four of the openers this weekend, as did everyone else I knew. This weekend they were much wiser in having three openers with very different audiences. Guys, girls, kids. Wham bam, thank you ma'am. Where I saw only one single TV ad for The Island, Stealth has been promoted non-stop. Where I work anytime I asked someone about The Island they hadn't even heard about it, whereas most everyone seems to know about Stealth, and quite a few of them want to see it (and these are 25-50 year old people). The marketing has been very clear in getting the point across, and the TV ads are really great, way better then the trailers. To some extent I think that Stealth actually overshadowed The Island.

I am ready for stealth to bomb like Island.
I think around 21m for it, maybe not as bad as the Island but not great.

God, I'm ready. But I think it's going to do the business The Island should have.
I'm going to go with 28ish probably. We'll see later in the week.
