Like xiayun said, not only did HP6 have some effect, but WOM is fantastic.

It got rated an "A" on Cinemascore, I believe.

Yahoo! - B+ (15,000+ reviews)
IMDB - 7.7/10 (6,500+ reviews)

And, great reviews don't hurt...

Aw, look at you, you little Charlie supporter, you!!

My little baby's all growns up!!

There isn't a particular website with all Cinemascore scores, at least not I'm aware of. Normally we got the information from weekly box office summary such as the ones at BOG and BOM. For Charlie, it's BOM that mentioned it: http://www.boxofficemojo.com/news/?id=1849&p=.htm, "According to studio exit polling, 54 percent of the PG-rated movie's audience was under the age of 18 and the majority was female. Opening night pollster CinemaScore suggested moviegoers liked what they saw, grading the picture an "A" overall."

Thanks! I just don't like quoting stuff like that without knowing the source because there is so much misinformation these days on the internet.

I take it it's unusual for movie's to get that high a grade?

Yeah, it's not common, even though Cinemascore tends to be somewhat inflated as they're taken as exit poll.

The only other film I can think of this year to get an "A" from CinemaScore was Batman Begins.

Charlie's Tuesday number is basically the same as what Planet of the Apes had, so 30M isn't actually a given as I first thought. Hopefully it will hold better comparatively the rest of the week.

I wouldn't be surprised, it has IMAX to help it out, no Harry Potter this weekend (I bet it could've done 60+ million easy without that), and the word of mouth really is spectactular (it had an overall A grade at Cinemascore, WOW).

Yeah. I was acutally wondering if anyone is taking the HP release into consideration. I, for one, thought it was a joke, or at most a slim scrape off the top. But I think I'm changing my mind the more I hear about it. Do y'all think it could be affecting the mid-week nnumbers too? SInce this week everyone is reading it? Could mean that CFactory could have a smaller drop than expected next weekend. More along the line of what Xia is predicting than the tuesday numbers show.

@Animosity, Interesting to consider what Bears will do against The Island. I dunno. Family Friends gets alot of money, but F$ is zero competition to Island in comparison to Bears and Factory. I only see Bears getting 3rd this weekend.

I don't think HP6 is going to have a larger effect during the weekdays, though if anything I would see it as a negative effect. Kids are out of school, so there could be more kids going during the week then on the weekend and thus the weekday numbers could be inflated leading to a larger weekend drop. At this point I don't think that is the case but it is a theory to watch.

It won't get to 37M now, but 30M is still guaranteed.
