Post Deuce Bigalow: European Gigolo

Plot: Deuce is tricked again into man-whoring by T.J., only in Amsterdam while other man-whores are being murdered in his midst.

The first one, released back in 1999, made over 60 million. Like the original, this one is going to be rated R (Reports have it being hard R). This fact will assuredly affect the box office take but the creators have faith that it'll still draw audiences more than the watered-down PG-13 version Disney requested (this one is going to be released by Columbia Pictures on August 12). What are your expectations for the box office reception for this film?

I saw the screening back in April and its definately a hard R because of the really raunchy humor in the movie. Eddie Griffin steals the movie though and hes given most of the punch lines. The whole movie basically takes place in Amsterdam and Deuce gets back into the game of being a Gigelow to clear Griffin's characters name when he gets framed for murder. If you loved the first movie, you would most likely love this one as well although I can see some people get turned off by the gross jokes and situation. It should do alright and I see it ending up with White Chicks gross which can be anywhere from 55-65 million.Maybe an opening from 16-22 million

18/48.

I've seriously heard some great reactions to the trailer. It could do a lot better.

Maybe...but unlikely. This is one where some people may want to go see it but are too ashamed to openly admit it...

The first one sort became a cult hit on DVD.

I think the film grew a fanbase, and I see this movie being a sleeper hit

Somewhere along the lines of

18/65

Yeah, definitely a surprise hit in the making. Low brow comedy often sells much better then low brow action (thus me thinking this'll be closer to White Chicks or Scary Movie 2 then xXx: State of the Union). It might do 18/48 like Zing said, but I do think there's 25/70 break out potential here.

The first one was a hit, unless people think all the funny bits are in the trailer like with The Hot Chick, then this could do just as good as the first one, maybe a bit less, but still around there.

Despite being another unnecessary sequel, Rob Schneider is very consistent at the box office, so I see no less than $45-50M for this.

The first one was just...hillariously awful/fantastic.

25/65.I think the first one has built a good fanbase and that this one will do slightly better numbers then the first.

This one is a bit tough to predict. On the one hand, comedy is obviously what audiences are looking for (Wedding Crashers...); especially R-rated, raunchy comedies, which is what Duece Bigalo is. On the other hand, I haven't seen a whole lotta advertising, but the reactions to the trailer in the theater are excellent. It could do anywhere from $30-70 million, in my opinion.

For now, though...

$15 million opening, $45 million total.

I smell a Miss Conginiality 2...

Looks crap. Won't hurt Wedding Crashers as much as people think.

Opening: $24 Million

Total: $78 Million
