It seems there truly are a lot of M:I or Cruise fans at South bay area. I went to see United 93 today at 5:30pm, and 5 of the night shows for M:I3 were already sold out.

MISSION IMPOSSIBLE III:

11:30 AM Showing

6 People including myself in a 275 seat auditorium AND THAT IS SAD..

Trailers: SUPERMAN RETURNS: You could hear a pin drop.. This really does look bad and I look forward to slaying this movie come June 30th

X3: Decent, but makes me wonder how Sunger would've done if he wouldn't of taken on SUPERMAN and Directed X3 instead.. It sort of looked cheesy and not the way for a near perfect MARVEL Franchise to go out..

The Movie: It was good, even if a generous amount of suspension of disbelief was required.. DEFINITELY BETTER than MI:2 but I'm on the fence as to whether it was quite as good as the 1st film.. A "B+" is what I gave MI:3..

I don't know, but you better believe it cause the trailer didn't get so much as a whisper of interest from anyone, even if it was only 6 people in the place.. I'm telling ya: That movie is going to BOMB..

Superman didn't get much of reaction during my showing either, but then again, the only films that did were Click, The Break-Up and Nacho Libre. You can be tempted to not believe anyone, but that doesn't mean we're lying. It's called denial.

BKB, what do you expect at 11:30 in the morning? A sold-out show?

I saw a 3:15 showing of M:I3.
It was... about a third full in a 300 seater.

The trailers were Pirates 2, Click, The Break Up, Superman Returns and Nacho Libre.

I've never seen the first two... :| I thought that the film was pretty entertaining, it didn't even feel like 2 hours. (unlike the movie I saw last week...) A bit meh on the material but I wasn't really expecting more. I'm thinking B-/C+.

Well considering how the Parking Lot looked at 8:30 PM on a Saturday Night which didn't look much different than the 11:30 AM showing, I think there is Cause for Concern for a movie supposed to be so good and designed to jump start the Spring/Summer Season, wouldn't you say Zing?? :-k

Well, perhaps it's not popular at your theater, but I checked on movietickets.com and all the night shows sold out in advance today at mine. I'm thinking it'll make $50 million this weekend.

Mission: Impossible III
7:40 showing, 270 seats, around 65% full (on 2 screens- this is good for my theater)

Trailers
Over the Hedge (some laughs)
Click (some laughs)
Nacho Libre (LOTS of laughs)
X-Men: The Last Stand (some talking)
Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest (LOTS of talking and laughs- this will be HUGE)

Movie
The movie was fantastic, except for the lame final shot. This was the most fun I've had at the movie theater in a while. A fun, action-filled romp- seriously, the action sequences are spectacular. Suprisingly funny during several points as well. Tom Cruise and Phillip Seymor Hoffman gave great performances. A-

The audience seemed to really enjoy the movie as well (including bursting in applause and cheers during one scene at the end involving Hoffman's character- you know what I'm talking about). ;)

Mission: Impossible III
4:05, 500-seater: 60% full

Trailers
Over the Hedge (silence)
Click (silence)
Nacho Libre (some laughs)
X-Men: The Last Stand (talking)
Superman Returns (talking)
Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest (talking)

Liked the film, and there was a light scattering of applause when it ended.

Yep. That is the reason I checked it out today. DLP version is being screened at only two theaters in Las Vegas.

Isnt it only being shown on about 250 screens in DLP? Around me theres only one place showing it on DLP, it's also the only place showing it on giant screen.

I think so. When you say Giant Screen, do you mean they use the IMAX screen with a DLP print?

United 93
8:00pm 85% Full

Trailers:
An American Haunting (silence)
The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford (silence, way to long of a title)
The Break-Up (some laughs)
All the King's Men (some talk)

Movie: A+
This was a fantastic, moving movie. Paul Greengrass did an excellent job in the director's seat. The final half hour had to be the most intense I have ever seen in a movie. One of the best movies all time for me. The movie had the best ending for the film.

Heh, that would be sweet, but no. Just projected on an imax sized screen.

Hey, call the theater up if you want to. Heh. I have nothing to gain by lying about how the film did at my theater. It's extremely popular over here, and based on its performance here, I'm shocked by the low numbers.

Thanks Scott! All those 0's for Hoot the last couple of days are just painful to look at. I can't imagine how bad it must be doing in smaller theaters. Still hoping for a 4.5 IM. :)
