Nice post, Jeff. Looking at the numbers, you're definitely the most consistent player and should've won.

Congrats, xiayun! Very well-done! Also good job Damweis, whereever you may be now.
Great score, Mark!
I start playing next week, for a year, so fasten your seatbelts!

Nah, the rules are that the highest overall scorer wins, not the most consistent high placer. Maybe I needed to take a few more risks here and there...
And of course there's some luck involved, so hopefully I'll be more lucky this year.

Congrats Matatonio! This is an incredible score, I wonder if anyone can beat it any time soon.
And Congrats Xiayun, Samweis, Jeff42, and Scott, the yearly race was amazing this year.
It was an amazing year for me. #1 twice, had my best score, a top 10 finish in the yearly race, a top 50 finish in the all time chart, increased my average from 79.2% to 80.8%.
Next year my main goal is to increase my average to 82%.

Congrats to Xiayun, Jeff, Scott, Samweis, JMorphin, Ahmed Salem, Animosity Reigns, Nebs and Zingaling. MG Casey also had a great ranking for only 50 weeks.
I say we push Brandon out of the top 10 this year.

Congrats to you as well, if you had played 52 weeks who knows what would have been.

Really too bad I missed 52 weeks. If I play consistent top 25 seems very possible to me.

Yep, more than likely Vovanik's average won't drop much if he had played the other two weeks. Great year, Vovanik!

Here's something I used to make before. Might help, might not. You have there small calculator, comparisons to similar weekends from past years, easy way to enter daily, weekly drops and such things.

Nintendo the champion of the 2005 year! Congrats!!!
Vovanik would almost certainly have finished at the top of the yearly chart had he played every game, but he didn't. That's not to detract from Vovanik's great performance, but xiayun is the yearly champion.
In other news, moviesfreak77 finally managed to enter predictions after getting 0% accuracy 21 times in a row.

Congrats Xiayun for winning 2005 !
I finished 6th for the year and that was much higher then I thought I would end up. This was the first full year I predicted, I began predicting in the middle of 2004.
Jeff posted these stats for the year so I put in my numbers to see how I would compare with the top predictors.
Average ranking:
xiayun - 48.06
Leonardo da Vinci - 46.98
Jeff 42 - 44.56
Scott Vasquez - 53.02
Crag Hack - 61.36
Median ranking:
xiayun - 29
Leonardo da Vinci - 25.5
Jeff 42 - 22.5
Scott Vasquez - 31
Crag Hack - 39
Wins:
xiayun - 2
Leonardo da Vinci - 0
Jeff 42 - 2
Scott Vasquez - 1
Crag Hack - 4
Single-digit finishes (better than 10th):
xiayun - 10
Leonardo da Vinci - 14
Jeff 42 - 10
Scott Vasquez - 12
Crag Hack - 11
Triple-digit finishes (100th or worse):
xiayun - 8
Leonardo da Vinci - 7
Jeff 42 - 6
Scott Vasquez - 10
Crag Hack - 13
So my conclusion is that I must work on my consistency. I have to try to eliminating those awful 13 Triple-digit finishes.
At least I think I had the most wins - 4, of all players for 2005
Hopefully I will have a better average score in 2006 and avoid doing what I did in week 7 last year when I predicted a 3-day instead of a 4-day weekend resulting in a 75% score and 301st place

I wonder if they took out bloodrayne cause the theater count changed at the last moment?
