I didn't say the two would perform at the exact same level. Sheesh.

While i have not seen Sin City, that comparison is not valid

actually if you base Sin Citys numbers off other "must see friday" movies based on the multiplier it could drop up to 20% today then another 25% on Sun which would leave it around 28.5 million....30 is not a lock yet

I should kick myself for not doing the derby this week! I actully guessed 33 million for sin city, and the others are close to what I was thinking.

Yeah, its like X2 or Episode I (okay episode I opened on a wed. but still it was a must see opening day)

I highly doubt it will make it. This not the type of movie to have legs. I expect a 55%+ drop next week. It should level off though with strong WOM.

after looking at the response at my theatres aand the fact that i had to stand an hour and a half in line, i thought it would do more. Then again, i think this has the potential of making more than the normal 30 million estimate i thought it would before going to the theatre.
kudos to all behind the project.

Great of course for Sin City. I think it will more or less match Constantine with about 75m.
Higher then I expected for Beauty Shop. Good for my prediction in Survivor.
Nice holds for most movies. I'm suprised by the hold for MC2.
Good to see that The Ring Two has leveled off a bit. It won't drop much more then 50% this week.

Well, if I recall, none of those dropped over 10% on Saturday. Constantine actually increased 1%.

I know what you ment, but those were two examples I was thinking of. (I always think of Episode I when it comes to "You need to see on opening day")

Kill Bill 2 had a really big drop. I believe it was quite a bit over 10%.

Great for Willis and co! =D>
Weekend multiplier will probably be weak though, mainly because of thursday midnight shows.

I predicted $28M all along.
So i'm well glad
Nice for Beauty Shop too! Quite a bit over the expected $4M friday. A very decent 5 day of $17M.
RING TWO will be close to $70M this weekend
Yay, nice weekend!

Why would you compare this to a sequel to a fanboy movie, yesterday we saw how backloaded Sin City acted on yahoo, that gives me an indication its not really a fanboy movie that people go out to see quick, not to mention it attracted the much older crowd aswell. Expect this to either increase a bit today or decrease just a bit, it wont fall that much.

First of all, congrats to Sin City!
I can't imagine it dropping on sat. Yes, it was kind of anticipated, but it's not a sequel to a big hit or anything. I see it staying about even or even rising a bit.

Sin City's audience, plus the midnight shows, will make it drop on Saturday. There's very little chance of an increase.
