If Boogeyman can make $20+ million on a Superbowl weekend, Cursed will definently make atleast $20 million.

Am not sure about CURSED any more.
I'm thinking around $14M.

I thought this looked really good, the news about it being trimmed to be PG-13 is a disappointment, but I'll still be seeing it in theaters. Then I'll rent the unrated/R version on DVD, no matter what I think of the PG-13 version because I've heard that a lot would have to be cut for a PG-13 rating.

Very simple site, just like two others Miramax's surprise hits -- HERO and DARKNESS.

It seems like that Wes Craven dislikes this movie.....
http://www.upcominghorrormovies.com/uhm ... ght=cursed
Quote: I read up on the production of Cursed in Fangoria and Craven is basically going out of his mind. He said he's spent more time on this movie than he'd have liked and has basically quit directing this leaving it up to the studios to finish. He said it started off as a great gorey horror film about werewolves with an actual story to it, and it was basically trimmed, and cut, and re-shot over and over into a pretty tame PG-13 teen horror about werewolves. When asked if he would do a sequel should the film actually become a hit, he said the studios can do it without him.

The Ring Two was schedualed for November.
There were production delays.
There have been reshoots (like most movies have).
The Ring Two switched a director RIGHT before the movie was to be filmed.
Then again, we always knew that The Ring Two was going to be PG-13 before all this trimming madness started, in fact isn't The Ring primarily a reason why The Grudge was made, and therefore, primarily the reason why these movies are getting trimmed to PG-13 in the first place?

The trailer was ok, and I'm a Wes Craven fan so I'll definately see it.

You would be disappointed if you see this movie for Wes Craven....
The final cut of this movie was finished by Dimension, not Wes Craven....

I'll see the cut version in theaters and buy the unrated version for sure. Same as I plan to do with Darkness.

Interestingly, I was at Borders Books tonight before heading off to work and was checking out the new issue of FANGORIA and they had an interview with Wes Craven and goes on to say how he had a really good Werewolf movie with CURSED until Dimension fucked it up and now he says he'd be surprised if the movie managed to be a hit after they butchered it with this goofy PG-13 Bullshit... The Werewolf itself looked good, kind of reminded me of The Howling in a sense of how those Werewolves looked, but PG-13 when it was filmed as a hard R Rating???

Yeah. I have no problem with PG-13 horror if it's intended to be that way -- The Ring, The Grudge, etc., were natural PG-13s due to the lack of gore, and only minimum cuts may have been necessary. But Cursed was written and shot as a hardcore, R-rated goreflick. If that's what it was always intended to be, a 'money gore shot' film, it's pretty much been circumsized by Dimension Films.

I completely agree and this is exactly where I stand in the whole PG13 horror vs. R rated horror thing that has been consuming horror sites of late.
If a film is shot for PG13, fine.
If a film is shot for R and then edited down to PG13, not fine.

Wes Craven also stated that he'll never do another film for Dimension ever again after the bullshit they put him through over this movie.. He says that in the event this movie somehow becomes a hit and Dimension wants a Sequel, he said "Good Luck on finding someone to make it".. He's a pissed Man I gather after reading this article.. I'll still see CURSED, But if I want an Excellent Werewolf movie complete with Carnage and all, I'll pop "The HOWLING" in.. =D>

Fucking right.. I'm surprised another studio like FOX or Paramount didn't pick up the rights to this movie?? I'm pretty certain they would've treated Craven alot better than Dimension did, plus the fucker would be Rated R to, well, maybe..

I just seriously dislike Dimension Films. They're never interested in making good horror films, only ones that cash in on the latest trend. 98% of their releases are utter shit that should've hit video first, and they're completely disrespectful to filmmakers and fans.

I got the hint that there was barely any TV SPOTS or advertising in america, but after reading on the IMDB boards for this film, quite alot of people are reporting that there is a massive amount of tv spots, and tonnes of billboards, posters and in theatre promotions.
True?
