Finally a good week. My first top 10 since the week of Cindrella Man. Surprisingly, I made those predictions in about 10 minutes. Hope it isn't luck.

Seems to be after I take a long break from the derby, I always come back with a really good score. I should take breaks from the derby more often

This weekend is going to be fun. I thought derby might go with 12 movies with the number of new wide releases, but delighted to find out they did go with 10 and thus increase the difficulty. Among the 10, we have 5 new movies, none of which is that predictable, 3 movies in their second weekend, and only 2 movies (Just Like Heaven and Emily Rose) where the prediction range will be small.

That's one bloody close set of rankings this week 33rd for me, not bad, not great. My best since I won in July infact, guess I went on a bad streak for a while. I blame goats, elongated plastic cookies and the alignment of the sun with an invisible second moon made entirely of I Can't Believe It's Not Cheese.

Half of the movies this week are new openers or big expansions.

And if the theater counts for Oliver Twist and Greatest Game were overestimated (such as the case for An Unfinished Life and Venom), we'll be really screwed.

Serenity and Into the Blue are easy openers though. Into the Blue will most likely be in the 11-13 range and Serenity will be 14-17. Nothing like Corpse Bride where it ranged from 16 mil to 38 mil, with all the high scores being screwed. If Serenity was in 3000 yes the fanboy vote would wack it up, but with its low count it shouldn't have too much range. Greatest Game is easy as well(most likely 3-4 mil). History of Violence and Oliver Twist are expansions, but not terribly hard. Flightplan and Corpse Bride are fine holdovers, and Just Like Heaven/Exorcism should follow their paths thus far.
I think this weekend will be fine, even high scores.

92.96%, my second best accuracy ever. My best accuracy is 93.21%, in the game of 9/12/2004. September has always been my best month.
btw, the All-Time, Yearly, and Monthly charts have all been updated.

Congrats Martin (Samweis) for passing 100,000 career total points!
I don't mean to upset people, but I really wish we could combine some of the Russian players in the all-time chart. I mean, each of them predicts in different weeks, never in all weeks, but enough to be eligible, with Vovanik being the most active and consistent player among them. It may sound like whining, and it's true that I put a lot more emphasize on the yearly race due to the current circumstance, but it's still ridiculous to see 6 Russian folks in the top 12 (not sure about Vharrus) and have players like Scott V., Samweis, Jeff, Animosity, and MikeQ to be pushed out of the top 10 and down on the all-time chart.

Booya, I've recovered to the top 5, ahead of Brandon again. The year's not over yet!

Congrats to Animosity for a truly dominating victory. And the yearly race has tightened up quite a bit, although xiayun still has a fairly large lead.

Congrats, Animosity! That is simply, simply, an incredible score.
Congrats to Jeff and Zing for the awesome performance!
Congrats to Mr. Sparkle! You have proven week-in and week-out that you are on the way to become the next Ragnarok. The ability to do well during both the easy and tough weeks is impressive.
The top 4 in the yearly race is still tight. 174 points is nothing, as Animosity almost made that much ground up on me in one week.
Another tough week coming up, even though 12 movies will dilute the effect of each movie and make scoring a little easier. 5 more openers and 5 second-week holdovers.
