She was 16 when she made the movie, she's 18 now - and if you listened to 2 of the video clips where she performed All I Ask of You at the GMA and Japanese Premiere, you can see how much her voice has matured and the depth is just extraordinarily....

well turning 22 in 1 month.

5 years is not a difference, but i make fun of all my friends for dating younger people... My view is that if you're not in highschool and you have to pick her up from highschool then that's odd.

I thought you were younger. Its not really that big of a deal though.

I work at a store that rents tuxedos and I rented a tuxedo for a guy who was turning 22 and his girlfriend is in highschool (he was going to her prom). So it does happen.

Well, I think the choices made were fairly good. I guess I would have prefered her over Zach Braff though.

Well if we live in a society where a 50 year old man and a 30 year old woman can happily marry...etc, why not this

Yup, McAdams and Rossum both should have been nominated. I would have preffered Browning (who was good though) and Highmore not nominated...

Maybe you thought that bc of our chats on the numbers with college choices and stuff. Also I had one year extra of highschool in Ontario (grade 13) which makes me 1 year older than ppl in the same year of university but living in the states :(

I would vote Emmy Rossum over Emily Browning and Bryce Dallas Howard anyday - even Dakota Fanning are more deserving than both of these......Zach Braff and Freddie Highmore i can't speak for because i haven't seen their movies...

^ Go see Garden State!
I personally thought Bryce Dallas Howard was amazing in The Village, she's getting my vote for breakthrough with Rossum not nominated.

I guess if it came down to Emmy Rossum or Emily Browning, I would pick Rossum. But if it was between Rossum and Dallas-Howard, then my choice would be Dallas-Howard by a landslide. She deserved a Best Actress Acadamy Award Nomination.
