Opening: $11.3 million
Total: $50.8 million
Less confident in it's opening, and total as well, but the legs will be great due to the holidays.

So, we have predictions for the opening from $6 million to $40 million...I'm inclined to believe it will be closer to the low end of that spectrum.

Opening: $10.6
Total: $38.0
Direct competition from Ocean's 12, Blade: Trinity, and National Treasure. I wonder how much of Lost's audience will see it.

Jeff, I think Goldie's $40 million prediction was for total.

Too much competition from everywhere in a crowded weekend, leaving Flight of Phoenix with 1 screen per theater and struggling to establish its footing. around $2000 PTA for a $5.8M weekend.

Yup, I don't think this one will be going anywhere this weekend. I see a 7 million weekend.

Yeah, xiayun beat me by $200,000.
At least I called it early. This always looked like a bomb to me. Reminds me of Timeline.

Good prediction. Looked like a terrible movie anyway.

Definitely. A great call, David. My PTA prediction is right on the mark, but I didn't change my prediction to fit the total screen count. When I did some research, I saw the last several years, there was normally a movie that opened around the time with $2000 PTA, and FOTP looks like a perfect movie to continue the tradition. It also never entered the top 20 of Yahoo's most downloaded trailers before Friday, so I sensed people simply didn't care about it.

Sounds about right. So far I've not heard very good WOM, which is why the film has such a low total.

Yeah, here in Anchorage people are not saying it sucked they are saying it was way to average.
