HHH was disgracefully bad in Blade: Trinity. He should never be in movies. I love how all movies starring WWE wrestlers always have wrestling movies used. He didn't use the pedigree, though.

One pedigree on Ryan Reynolds would have made the movie. After watching WWE for the past few weeks, one would derive that Triple H IS Blade Trinity, and that he has some acting skills. I doubt that's true, and maybe he can leave the movie work to The Rock. Rock may not have many big hits yet, but he sounds like he might have some good ones soon.

I was expecting just a tad more for Ocean's 12. I mean Bourne Supremacy opened with what $19 million friday?

I thought Ocean's 12 would open with around $16-17 million.

I am surprised at how well Blade:Trinity is doing. I don't know what youb guys are all talking about. I felt no anticipation what-soever for this movie. Opening against Ocean's 12.... and on a Wednesday, that's amazing. It should nab $25 million 5-day gross. It is a third and people might be getting tired of it, especially since it's not anywhere near as big as Matrix or Star Wars or anything.

I am a bit disappointed with Closer. I thought the expansion would sorta counter the mixed word of mouth (yes, I have heard alot of people saying it is great, including myself) and result in a modest 30-35% drop, but I gues it will be more like around 50% drop.

Overall, pretty good, not fantastic numbers.
I can't believe how strong Polar Express is chugging along. could it reach $150+ million? We still have Christmas week to go!

Ryan Reynolds owned HHH.

Seriously though, HHH was horrible. He barely had like 10 lines in the whole movie, and he was rediculous. They portrayed his character as being gay, which was kinda funny. Also, because of the so-called "steroids", Ryan Reynolds made fun of him for having a small dick.

I was curious how his eye grew back but trying to make sense out of Blade 3's script isn't very healthy.

WIth Closer, it only increased 100 or so theaters. For a rated-R film with mixed reviews (By most, but not all) I think that's pretty good. It should do great next weekend with an even bigger theater increase.

@ projections: Spanglish Sneaks are on Saturday (Sony) - I don't know if they will count towards Closer (Sony) or Christmas with the Kranks (Sony / Revolution). I think Sony/Revolution isn't the same like Sony, is that right? So it might will help Closer... :)

House of Flying Daggers dropped 45.8% from last Friday.

Good PTA for The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou. Should have $60,000 for the weekend.

I think alot of your Kranks projections are too low. Remember, there will be a Spanglish sneak attached to Kranks tonight. That will boost the Saturday increase to at least 100%. Here is how I see it.

Friday - 2.01 million.
Saturday - 3.95 million.
Sunday - 2.21 million.

Total - 8.17 million.

Im surprised about what people are saying about O12's final gross. Its a good opening and on par with expectations (most I would have expected is $45m, looks like it will get $40m)

It will make atleast $150m if the wom isnt so good.

Remember December is all about legs and not opening weekends. You cant expect any film (other than LOTR) to have massive numbers. Comparing a Friday in December to a Friday in July (Bourne) just doesnt work.

Considering WB's weak marketing it did well. With no LOTR film on the horizon and Christmas/New YEar coming up - it should do rather well - though we are no longer looking at $200m+

Blade should have remained in August. New Line was probably suffering LOTR in December withdrawl symptoms and just had to release something. Silly move considering Star Trek's two failed attempts in December!!!

Polar Express - good to see this doing well. Both this and National Treasure should surpass $150m.

Kranks!! Dont know what the current cume is but i think it has a chance at $100m. I hope so anyway.

I know. It's not like the sequel is some offbeat, bizzare film that's completely different in every way from the first movie, so it's not going to turn off that many people.

Exactly. The first one was kind of quirky and audiences liked it. This couldnt be that different.

They should of kept Blade Trinity at its august release going up against AVP. It really looks like O12 is taking a big chunk from all the movies even Blade Trinity. I guess its just New Lines stupid thinking to open a vampire movie in december

Why??? So AVP could stomp it in the ground like Ocean's 12 is doing??? AVP would've destroyed BLADE 33, er, I mean BLADE III..
