Opening: $19.1
Total: $55.0

I have a feeling it may bomb very hard, though.

I really want this movie to do well but judging by the recent comic book movies that came out and bombed hard, I dont think the movie would do too well considering its rated R also. Heck we already have 3 comic book movies in a row that bombed hard.

I would say
17 million/ 45 million for now
Hopefully it would be 27 million/70 million

Comic books movies are going down fast. Remember Bat Spider and Super were not just comic books. They worked their way up the ladder from paper comics to Saturday cartoons to prime-time TV shows, increasing fanbase each time. Moving to movies from there is not much of a stretch.

Now Hollywood is reduced to dredging up the second-tier comics for stories. These haven't gone past the small comix fanbase, so of course the huge jump to movies is going to bomb. The exception is X-men. They had risen to the fanbase level of Saturday cartoon, and the movie performed accordingly.

Do people really know this is a movie based on a comic book? You could have fooled me. :-k

I think they should re-edit in some of the darker R stuff they had, since it's stuck with the rating anyways.

I am really anticipating this one. The previews have been fairly good. I am always a sucker for good vs evil movies

I'm seeing the film on Monday. I'll let you know my prediction based on how packed the screening is and what the crowd thinks of it :)

OT:

"House of Wax" trailer will be attracted on every print of "Constantine".

"A Scanner Darkly" teaser will be attracted on some prints of "Constantine".

I hope CONSTANTINE is a hit now, just so that HOUSE OF WAX has a bigger chance of doing well!

Yeah, this is a really hard movie to predict. It could either be a box office bomb with less than $30 million total, or a hit with over $70 million total. I'm hoping for the latter, and not the former. [-o<

Yeah, I hope it does good too. For the most part the TV spots suck, but the trailers are great and normally always get a great reaction. When the teaser was with Troy it was getting claps and everything.

Idk about predicting the right gross because it depends on additional trailers, tv spots and people's opinions of the movies. Also, I heard the super bowl ad came already. So what if it works:

open-- $31 mil
close -- $105 mil

Otherwise:

open-- $27 mil
close-- $93 mil

Looks pretty good, except for Reeves usual boring dull acting.

It'll either be a little hit or a bomb I think, i'll go with little hit

Opening - 30
Final - 85

Who knows, it might even be a big hit. Pretty good marketing.
