Tom Cruise is definitely the most consistent BO draw. He is probably the only actor that can bring any genre to $100m (whether or not that's still true remains to be seen). Hanks is similar, but has slipped a tad recently. Smith's last drama only did 60m. Sandler and Carrey's dramas do worse (but they are comedians, so maybe it doesn't matter).

Perhaps it's the "Tomkitten Factor" or folks didn't want to go out tonight and are saving it for Saturday and Sunday?? Anyone else experiencing this or what??

Exactly, most everyone knew it was going to underperform as soon as notfabio and Scott V reported their theater revenue. If anyone deserves credit, it should be DP07 who stuck with a prediction under 60 million despite MTC projecting a 68 million take. MTC seems to be extremely off on oversaturated media blitz on tentpole movies. They did it last year with King Kong when they projected a 88 million 5 day take. I think MTC is more about awareness than projections

You are correct 100% of the time. So that analogy does not work for you.

BTW, Are we going to track BKB's movie theater parking lot for future Box Office predictions? May be insomniacdude and BKB can give two hour updates.

BKB had a good hunch last night, but DP07 predicted it, like, a year ago.

BKB, how's the ol' theater parking lot tonight? A little better?

That's quite wrong. Reel Source is a lot more about awareness, and when they are close, it's more like random luck. MTC's projections actually mean something each week.

To think that RS had MI3 at nearly double the actual just two weeks ago. So much for that TDVC under 50m projection.

Just so you know: It's Saturday Night around 9:00 PM and the local theatre by me, that's right RONNIE'S 20 CINE is like not even 1/4 Filled and I wouldn't be surprised if my last minute projection is pretty close.. It was a Good movie I thought, but maybe folks are sort of burned out on TomKat..

For a Saturday Night and a movie that's supposed to be really good kicking off the Spring/Summer Season and not even a 1/4 Full, I'd say this is quite shocking and doesn't bode well for this movie..
