Hi Arch,
Sorry I've been scarce! I was unwell! As for getting more people on board, I'll try to pm a few! With the time zone difference, it may prove difficult!
Hopefully as the movie starts to get out in in trailers in the cinemas for the upcoming holiday season, perhaps people's excitement will build and they will join in?

It seems people on these boards don't like to look at wonderful pics and quite interesting articles.....they seem to like predicting more......that's the vibe i'm getting from the forums these past few months....oh well :?

I also find it odd that there isn't more info or websites available for this film on the net! You'll find bits and pieces here and there, but I thought that there would be more, especially now that the deadline is drawer closer! :?

Are you alright now, what plagued you?
It's quite ridiculous weather here in Melbourne and everyone in my family except myself are sick with Hayfever......it's actually 32 degrees today and 34 tomorrow.....ouch :x

Well, the boards are still relatively new...what two months or so? It will take time! I don't think it's a matter of them prefering predicting over other threads. They are all just feeling their way around and that was what first caught their attentions when this place took off and I think many are just sticking with it for now! Such are the perils of a growing forum! Kepp doing what you are doing and others will come along...I am sure of it!

The main problem is the fact that this movie will not have the US as its leading market.....so the only info you can find are from Forum boards and articles here and there........but all the interesting things i've found (which other people have found) are all posted here for everyone's convenience.....
Plus it's not the sort of movie which will have big grossers....it will be lucky just to get to $100m in the US......
But i'm hoping this will perform strongly overseas and it receives some Oscar attention....

I can't really say..I think it was all stress related, but it really took me out! I'm talking headaches, tension aches, loss of appetite, severe fatigue, nausea,...you name it! It's all but gone now, but I'm still fatigued! Cheers for asking anyway! I suppose I should have seeked the aid of a doctor, but I hardly believe in that! :?
We'll you're quite lucky that you haven't caught your families fever, probably because you're out a lot!

So the US seems to be the mover and shaker for films such as this to recieve any sort of momentum? I know it will be strong overseas, but I also thought that people in the US would be anticpating this film! The theatre production has done so well there from what I understand!

.......all fingers cross that new blood will come somehow....... :?

The holiday season is approaching and people's time will be limited! It will turn for the better especially when the school holidays have come! many here are young and have to finish up assignments and exams before they break up.
Do not worry.

It's quite buzz if we can call it that.........it's starting to creep onto the critics reviews (dissapointing to good) and many Oscar prediction lists.....
The momentum will start in the Uk if at all.......it's make it or break it time December 10th weekend.....scary

I'm not a fan of modern medicine unless I really need it! Time and natural remedies heal just as well sometime! I think my problem is that I work seven days a week and rarely take time off except for when I go away on hoiliday! i've been here on the forums a lot lately, but other than that it's work..work..work for the most part!! I haven't even been to the cinema in ages..I go out with mates every now and then though. I must say though, that Phantom is the first and probably only film that I am truly excited to see this year! I was a little interested in Alexander, but that interest has all but subsided now! That's sad that it has come to only one film this year! Where is the Horse and Rider?
..and, you're right water is a great preserver!

I hope it comes true, it's hard for us to post when you don't get like a reply until the next day if at all....LOL
The only time this forum comes alive is the day the Friday numbers are released.....then it's all quite until the next week.......that's seems to be the pattern.....

May I recommend a bout of insomnia for you! I've had it for years and wouldn't mind sharing it at all..lol!! j/k
This pattern always happens before the holidays! It's just that BOM was bigger, and hence, had a more international group of members! It's all still new here and relatively small! Got to start from somewhere eh?

But that's good, you have a well balanced life and you will be rewarded with your hard work.
It also surprises how many times some people on these boards go to see the movies, i consider myself a movie fan but i only go to the movies i really want to see, maybe once a month or a couple of times if there are good movies around. Some people here see a movie once every week......they surely have a lot of time on their hands...

Oh and about Alexander, you are exactly right.
I was really anticipating this like a month ago, but when the rotten reviews started to role in :? sigh,
Thank God this comes out in Jan 20 in Australia....let all the bad buzz subside somewhat......
But one things for sure.......it's chances of Oscar are doomed......we night have an epic movie nomination this year......

Yes, LOTR EE day......how could i forget.....
Though i'm worried about The Incredibles......it's definately going to have a $20m+ opening this weekend and Phantom will have to face its 3rd weekend, Polar Express' 2nd weekend and Blade Trinity's opening weekend as well.... :?

You were there pretty much at the beginning of BOM. It took some time to grow to what it was! This place is still developing! I'll ride out the wave!
Loki (My Goodly Lord..lol) is here! We spoke on pm a few times and he says he will eventually return with his humour and insights! He says that he is really engaged at the moment and doesn't have much time, but that he'll be back!
In time..they will come!

Dinner With Patrick Wilson - A Conversation with One of Broadway's Favorite Leading Men
http://www.broadwayworld.com/viewcolumn.cfm?colid=1661
Wilson admits that during the filming of PHANTOM OF THE OPERA, Andrew Lloyd Webber dubbed him "The Impossibly Perfect Patrick Wilson" In fact, Lloyd Webber called him that quite often. This was because Wilson performed most of his stunts himself and for the professionalism he displayed on the set. "It's very flattering," says Wilson, "but it's not true. I'm not 'perfect'."
Wilson has great admiration for the British composer In fact, the two men bonded immediately. To Lloyd Webber, Wilson was "the only person in the room who could sit there and trade stories with him and go show by show with him and talk about how his music changed or what instruments he used. He'd tell me about the creation of this role or ask me if I'd heard a certain version of SUPERSTAR and what did I think of it? All the others there were Hollywood people so he and I hit it off really well. He's probably the only musical theater composer of the 20th century I'd never met. I mean, I'd met Sondheim and just about every other theater composer. You know, I've spent eight years in the business and I got to meet a lot of people, but I'd never auditioned for Andrew. When I did get to sing for him it was very comforting and relaxing because the part of Raoul sat in a good part of my voice and I'd grown up singing that style of music. I grew up on LES MIS--pop musical theater was what I grew up on. Each show swayed me in different ways, whether it was classical or pop, but this was sort of the core of what you listen to.
Now quite a few "Hollywood people" had auditioned for the role, but unless you sing it eight times a week you either 'do it or you don't' and unless you do it like that it's hard to understand what it's like. From the start, it became obvious that Lloyd Webber and I came from the same world--the theater--and it wasn't like some actor who was saying, 'Well, I just learned to sing for this audition' or 'Well, I used to sing as a kid' and that's fine, but for this role, everything just felt right."

I surrender who I've been for who you are Nothing makes me stronger than your fragile heart If I had only felt how it feels to be yours I would have known what I've been living for all along What I've been living for
