I'd like to know what your predictions for The Ring Two are BKB. You've stated many times throughout this thread that you think Amityville will open to 50 million 3 day but you have yet to give us your prediction for what you think The Ring Two will make.

My prediction for The RING II for the 3 Day weekend is 35 Million.. I don't think this is gonna be any better than the 1st one and if anything, there milking this to death.. The Amityville Horror will smoke this movie just because it looks 10X Better...

I agree AvP really wasn't affected by the PG-13 rating.

It really wasn't and the more I think about the movie, the more I think "The Man" nailed it just like the comic so it's rating was justified with no interference if Cameron or Scott were to do another one of these movies since it's separate from them.. =D>

I just got to see it a few days ago, and while it wasn't what I would consider a "great" movie, for what it set out to achieve, which was a clash of iconic monsters, it was fairly good. Enjoyable, and slightly cheesy (enough to add a few laughs). I'd grade it as a solid B.

YES.. By the way, I have so many signature change bets going for this, that were gonna have to compile a list of folks in on this, to make sure I honor everyone if I'm wrong on this, but I don't think I will be.. After another PG-13 Horror just went down the toilet, with Boogeyman and now CURSED, The Amityville Horror will almost be a blessing... It's a shame we have to wait til April though.. Better to get The RING II out of the way 1st and save Amityville, the BEST for last.. =D>

BKB, you sound like a broken record. Each one of us puts reason into an argument, hoping you'll read it and that the argument will knock some sense into you, but it never does. You continue with the same statement until finally proven wrong (in a way you can't dispute, or, statistics) and even then you'll try to rationalize it.

You haven't addressed anything. WHY would Amityville Horror be a bigger film than Ring 2? Because it's better? Nah. Why isn't your beloved AVP on top of the Yearly chart, then? Because it IS a better movie, no? That's the only basis you have in your argument, but you fail to consider what everyone has shoved at you. Most people (I'd say at LEAST 75%) liked the Ring. And, we're talking about a film that developed an even greater audience in the rental stage. Just because the sequel (or the original) might suck, in your opinion, doesn't change the fact that it has more appeal to the MAJORITY of people than The Amityville Horror and that the film is destined to be a big hit.

Until you learn to debate properly, that is, reading carefully other peoples' arguments and responding to THEIR points, don't expect me (and others) to think of you highly...

Good, BKB, good.

So what are the rules of the bet. By how much does The Ring 2 need to outgross The Amiytville Horror in order for you to lose?

Which is pretty often. I can't remember one outlandish prediction you've made that's come to pass, dating back to the days of The Hulk.

I said The Amityville Horror would gross 170 Domestically and have a 50 Million 3 Day weekend opening... The RING II has to Gross over 170 Million to beat Amityville Horror and it has to gross over 50 Million in 3 days to beat it as well and it's not gonna happen with a rehash of a sequel like The RING II.. If I win, you post for me over at RT for 1 week and if I lose, I put what you said for me to in my signature for 1 week.. I mean come on, this should be a cake walk for you since afterall, PG-13 always makes more no matter how shitty it will be VS A High Quality R-Rated Horror movie like The Amityville Horror will be.. This whole "No one under 17 admitted without Parent" crap isn't gonna prevent Amityville from making what it will.. Anyone under the age of 17 will find a way for someone to get tickets for them and really it isn't like the theatres really card people that often is it?? :-k At least at the theatre I attend, I've never seen it done.. :-k

Wow BKB, I would have thought you would have learned that your personal opinion NEVER transaltes into good prediction. It is the same thing here. The Ring 2 may be worse than Amittyville Horror, but any other box office predicter and I could predict without thinking twice that The Ring 2 will outgross it. Now remember BKB. This isn't because....

1) The Ring 2 is better than Amittyville Horror (Amittyville could be the best horror movie ever, and it won't outgross Ring 2)
2) Amittyville isn't well known (Amittyville could be just as well known as Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and it still won't outgross Ring 2)

People have become fed up of horror in 2005 now, as cursed makes $9.5M on it's opening weekend.

This is definately putting a bad taste in horror fans mouths.

Hopefully THE RING TWO will get them back on track, and this will eventually help AMITYVILLE HORROR's gross.

And hopefully HOUSE OF WAX.

Yeah?? And I don't think The RING II will live up to the 1st film and I still predict only a 35 Million opening for this and Amityville to roll right over it since after this weekends piss poor box office with yet another PG-13 Horror with CURSED, Amityville and it's R-Rating will be the saving grace and bring alot of moviegoers in, both adults and teens and outgross The RING II.. Face it: PG-13 Horror is on it's way out and R-Rated Horro is making the comeback with this....

Yeah, 'cuz God knows someone is going to see Amityville is rated R and say 'Y'know, I have to see that! I sure did think the trailers looked like crap before, but the fact that it's R makes me want to spend $8 anyway!' If it looks good, people will see it. All the R-rating will do is restrict quite a few teenagers from getting in who might otherwise manage with a PG-13 tag. Maybe they'll buy Ring Two tickets and sneak in.

Yeah whatever.. I think this whole purchasing tickets for one movie only to sneek into another is bullshit.. Teens will find a way to see this movie if their under the age of 17 by having someone purchase tickets for them which is REALLY what they should do instead of defrauding the studio by purchasing tickets to another movie and sneeking into the R-Rated Horror movie.. Hell it won't even come to that cause once The RING II disappoints and doesn't live up to the 1st film with it's PG-13 Bullshit, they'll be begging for a great R-Rated Horror and Amityville is IT..

Yeah and just like they were begging for PG-13 Horror crap like the Boogeyman which fell off the face of the planet and now CURSED, Both of which were PG-13 and coming soon, The RING II which won't live up to the 1st film just based on the crappy TV Previews they show.. It's the same film all over again.. Like it or not, Amityville and it's Hard R-Rating =D> will smoke The RING II.. Count on it..

Hey I wasn't the only one who got it wrong and besides, I have more confidence in Amityville smoking The RING 22 Then I had for RAY winning BEST PICTURE which I knew was a long shot despite sticking to my guns over it and not backing down....

If AMITYVILLE has it's trailer attached to BE COOL and MISS CONGENIALITY 2....then i predict SOLIDLY over $25M.

If it's only attached to CURSED, i rekon maybe $20M-$25M.

Still, it's GONNA be a hit.

Edit, NOT miss congeniality 2......BEAUTY SHOP i meant.
HOUSE OF WAX done the good move by attaching it's self to CONSTANTINE. Which has been big in AMERICA and especially internationally.

But Have either AMITYVILLE or HOUSE OF WAX got any chance of being attached to the RING TWO???

THAT would be clever.
