Also remember that even Saw wasn't all that scary. What made people to go see them was because they were GOOD movies.
Think about it. Whether you liked it or not is irrelevenat here. Ring opened with 16 million. It had one of the highest multipliers. People hence saw it cause of good word of mouth. So clearly, your argument that people did not like this movie (actually, thats not even your argument).
I still think its a very uneeded sequel. But it will make money. Teasers and stuff have been good.

All I remember seeing was people at BOM going on and on about how scary the Ring was. People exaggerated the hell out of that movie. People go to see "horror" movies to be scared, so I think a lot of them talk themselves into believing they were, so the experience isn't disappointing, but The Ring was in no way, shape, or form, a scary movie. Not in the slightest. You would have never believed it by the comments online...

Well .. again .. at the end of the day, its a matter of opinion.
I've never come across a movie thats ever scared me at all. Grossed me out yes. Scared. no. Ring was one that sort of made me feel creepy .. mainly cause of the end but more than anything, i just enjoyed watching and liked it for that. The scary part!?? meh ... hell I've seen a few nightmares, evil dead, prince of darkness, friday the 13ths, original texas chainsaw and i thought they were all utter crap. I've seen the ones now and while i enjoy them ... its an insult to call anything scary. Like i said, only a few movies recently have made me feel a bit disturbed and mainly cause of imagery. Heres a list
The Cell - Imagery and concept I found very disturbing
One Hour Photo: Not even a horror but very high on creepy factor.
Ring: Well executed movie with a kik ass scene at the end enough to give atleast the people i was with a few jitters.
Saw: Again, absolutely nothing scary about it. Just disturbing.
Sixth Sense: but it was more so the environment i saw it in than anything else.
One would say I should include 7 but as disturbed i was by it, it wasn't in the scary way.

Gotta admit, it looks aweseome, and I'm upping my prediction to 31/82. But I still don't think it'll beat The Ring Two, and I'll accept your bet.
This forum can't post any movie trailer

I don't think that is what bABA meant. I think he meant posts that simply contain trailers were to remain in the "Movies" section. Attaching a trailer to movie being tracked is fine I think.

I find it funny how BKB says this movie is PG-13 so its gonna suck - but goes to say White Noise is an amazing movie.
The movie shouldnt be a remake they should show how these desperate people scammed their way out of the mortgage and how the only real recourse for the bank was to turn the thing into a tourist attraction. You could do the whole thing from the POV of an actual ghost residing in the home who nobody can see or hear and who is just laughing his ectoplasmic ass off at how lame the Lutz's manufactured haunting is. It'd be like Beetlejuice meets The Grifters meets The Money Pit.
BKB isnt Jody suppose to be a pig not a little girl?

Yeah, Jody is supposed to be a Pig and not a little girl, that I will agree on and puzzles me why they chose to go that route.. Also, in the remake it's 412 Ocean Ave and in the Novel and in real life, it's 112 Ocean Ave.. I think the reason they did that is because in real life, that house in Amityville which is now occupied, gets so many visits from Tourists and I guess they wanted to respect privacy which I can understand... And regardless of what you or anyone thinks, whether you believe in what the Lutz's experienced or not, this case was never solved, so it was never proven to be a hoax or otherwise.. That's why this is one of the most famous, legendary Ghost Hauntings in America and is now approached the 25th Anniversary of The Amityville Horror... No one will ever really know...

Ask any adult out there if they've ever heard of The Amityville Horror and they'll tell you YES.. If your referring to teens, then it's possible they haven't, but you should pick up the Novel and read it.. It's fantastic and one hell of a creepy read... I think Michael Bay looks to of done an excellent job with this movie, despite the small changes which still baffles me.. This will OWN the RING II.. Bet on it... =D>

Dude the first one is so overrated the entire time I was watching it I wanted to both vomit and my mouth and urinate all over my T.V. screen because I was so disgusted. More people know about the ring, and your overpredicting ass is gonna look like a clown here soon.
If Ring two outgrosses AH, you have to write change your sig to whatever I want for two weeks, change your avatar and write a public letter to sean apologizing and begging for a return to BOM

Your right.. The 1st RING was overrated as hell.. You and I are making progress here and agree on something.. Hell, that's how I felt after watching The RING as well: Wanting to vomit and Urinate on my TV since I was disgusted at the amount of posters praising this PG-13 Horror shit.. I'll change my signature if I'm wrong for 2 weeks, but Bullshit if you think I'm apologizing to that idiot Sean Salsbury.. If anything, that fucker should apologize to me..

Yeah?? And I can't imagine any of the horror movies that were effective in scaring you were PG-13 Horror either.. Did The GRUDGE scare you?? The RING?? If not, then your in for a treat with Amityville... R-Rated Horror makes the comeback on April 15th.. =D> =D>

well....The Ring had some freaky moments in it I think...I do think it was the best horror we have had in awhile, and the grudge had 2 freaky parts...but it was more of a rehash of Ring
The Shining Freaked me out, the original TCM freaked me out...Susperia....hmmm

=D> That's sort of what this remake feels like is a bit of The Shining where the Husband goes mad from the house.. I to agree that the original TCM was freaky in watching a woman descend into the world of madness as they do a closeup of her bloodshot eye twitching back and forth at the Dinner table scene toward the end when Grandpa was htting her in the head with that hammer and she was losing her mind.. I wish the remake would've had that..

What Killuminati510 said was interesting. You talk about how PG-13 horror movies suck so bad, but on the flipside, you praise White Noise (PG-13) and Alien vs. Predator (PG-13, technically in the horror genre). Care to explain this?

I'd like to know what your predictions for The Ring Two are BKB. You've stated many times throughout this thread that you think Amityville will open to 50 million 3 day but you have yet to give us your prediction for what you think The Ring Two will make.

The well scene in The Ring is scarier than anything in the original Amityville Horror. And BKB, you realize Michael Bay isn't directing Amityville 2005, right?

Now, the horror movie trend is over.....
And then, this movie is stated to open against "Valiant" (Disney's CG Animation)
I think that you people's predictions have to be lower....

For one, this weekend's trend doesn't necessarily follow in April. Also, Valiant and Amityville Horror have completely different audiences.

I think that Valiant's audiences has crossover with Amityville Horror.
(CG Animation has very "wide" audience demographic.)
And then, Valiant is G, Amityville Horror is R.
It lead me to remember Ice Age VS Resident Evil.

Yes, that is true... I did say that because technically, one can't really consider WHITE NOISE to be true horror.. I'd say that bordered more on Thriller or Suspense than horror, wouldn't you?? AVP was conceived as a PG-13 from the get go because the Dark Horse Comic, ALIEN VS PREDATOR was more ALIEN on PREDATOR Violence than on humans.. Sure, you had a couple bite the dust here and there, but it was more of an Extraterrestrial War if anything therefore, it's PG-13 was excusable since it was a standalone movie not related to the other films in the franchise..

I don't care who's directing it.. I just know that everything I've seen in the New Amityville trailer is head and shouilders better than anything I've seen for The RING II and for that matter The RING.. I just don't get the overinfatuation with The RING and WHY folks think this movie is really that scary cause it's not.. Teens and for that matter, adults have been deprived of good horror for awhile now ever since the studios have been going apeshit with this whole PG-13 Nonsense and finally, were gonna get an all out, R-Rated Horror the way it's meant to be...
