I really hope Im wrong and it will send a message to the studios about cutting R rated movies to PG-13.It will probably open to more than 20 million next week since the Boogeyman ( a straight to video movie saved by the studios) was able to open to 19 million on a Superbowl weekend. I really really hope Im wrong and the movie bombs with majority of people watching Constantine instead.

If Boogeyman (which was set to "straight to video") can enjoy $19 million opening on a Superbowl weekend, CURSED should open more than $20 million .

PG-13 "CURSED" won't have any screenings until Thursday night. Critics won't have time to write reviews for Friday papers.
It means that this movie will probably as bad as PG-13 "DARKNESS".

Actually Im wondering what was really funny about the house of wax trailer. Was it because of Paris Hilton or something else about it?

Probably that Paris Hilton is in a horror movie. It's actually a fitting role, and that's funny.
People may actually go see it to see her get killed by that dude.
Opening: $105 million
Total: $210 million
There's a lot of people who want to see that happen. Trust me.

Would that many people by willing to PAY to see Hilton get killed ONSCREEN? I would think they would avoid seeing a movie with someone they dislike. It sounds like a waste of money but then again who am I to talk for seeing an Uwe Boll film

I'd pay big money to see Orlando Bloom get killed on screen... :-$

I'm saving that prediction. I like you Zing, but man, that's Algren/BKB-quality predicting.

Hehe. If it made that much, I'd probably lose all faith in the general public. A Paris Hilton movie will never break $100 million.
My actual prediction would be something like...
Opening: $20 million
Total: $50 million

Mary's question is still valid. The Cat in the Hat was scarier than House of Wax probably will be.

That's actually very surprising for me considering my theater was sold out last night for Cursed.
Oh well. ONE horror movie had to end the trend.

IMDB reports budget of $35,000,000.
Not a bomb after all.

It would only include the 2nd version budget.
The total budget of this movie is about $75 million.

I heard $35,000,000 was full costs, for both shoots.
Actually has a chance of breaking even in USA run only.
