I am surprised that Million Dollar Baby has a slightly higher drop than Aviator...

Amazing hold for The Aviator. It is in its 8th week of wide release and it still dropped less than MDB. Ouch for Hide and Seek.

Either Showbizdata or BOM is way off with the numbers for Boogeyman. If both sites are correct, then Boogeyman is going to have at least a 65% from Saturday to Sunday. Even with the Super Bowl, isn't that still a bit much?

Not that this matters but when I saw Aviator and M$B over the same weekend, Aviator was sold out and M$B had around a dozen or so people. Some places were the complete opposite I'm sure.

I would think the running time of The Aviator would be working against it.

This doesn't make sense

Maybe the R rating is having an effect?

What R rating?

No, it's not.

It looks like some of the movies are overestimated, Racing Stripes in particular. I'd be shocked if it only dropped 45% today.

Both Boogeyman and The Wedding Date had good openings, after seeing The Wedding Date's Friday numbers, I'm a bit disappointed it didn't open with a bit more.

Are We There Yet, Million Dollar Baby, The Aviator, Sideways, Meet the Fockers, Racing Stripes, The Phantom of the Opera, Finding Neverland, Being Julia, Bad Eductation, Hotel Rwonda, and surprisingly Ray all had pretty good holds.

Hide and Seek, White Noise, and especially Alone in the Dark had terrible holds. The drop for all of them are expected though, especially for Alone in the Dark because most places it's at night only showings.

Yes, but I expect it to drop around 55-60% next weekend, so it won't be helped much either.

It'll have a hard drop next weekend too, guys. Next weekend, theaters begin to drop movies. I'm sure this will have a huge drop.

Guys Boogeyman won't lose theaters. It is going into its second weekend. Alone in the Dark is destined to lose more theaters than Elektra.

That's what I'm talking about. Alone in the Dark.

Boogeyman will drop around 50-55%.
