1. The Grudge - $16.0
2. Shark Tale - $14.4
3. Surviving Christmas - $10.4
4. Friday Night Lights - $8.2
5. Team America - $5.5
6. Ladder 49 - $5.4
7. Taxi - $4.2
8. The Forgotten - $3.7
I think Shark Tale has a 20% chance at remaining #1 for 4 weeks in a row. The Grudge looks quite stupid in my opinion and people aren't ready for a Christmas Movie. I actually think Surviving Christmas will open in the $7-9 million range. I think they will probably rerelease it close to Christmas.

I think it's almost a gaurantee that The Grudge will do $20 million this weekend. All the teens are hyped up for it, it's the first real horror movie of October and close to Halloween, The Forgotten was a nice success, and it's got a Ring-like vibe.

Only predicted The grudge for now.
22.5m and it will be number 1.
BOM has it at 3000+ theatres, so 22.5m should be obtainable.

I've seen little advertising for Surving Xmas. Should make a little dent in the top 5.
The Grudge: 15.8 - Not feeling it yet. I'm not anti horror, but, the ads are really stupid imo. It doesn't even have the Sixth Sense style appeal the Forgotten had. It looks like Dragonfly meets I Know What You Did Last Summer.... not good!
Surving Xmas - 8.1 for now
I Heart Huckabees - 6.8m - I want this to succeed so bad. I love the cast, and Jude Law. Its a must see in my book!

The Grudge.... ir eally havent seen any ads for this yet so i'm going to give it at 15.7 because look at the ring. It only made 18 million its first weekend and if you guys are saying that it has a ring type movie then it will perform like the ring but with shorter legs.
Surviving Christmas 7.2. Christmas dont survive in october!!!! what are they thinking. I havent even thought about Christmas or the holidays yet and we got movies that are. I'm still psyched about the leaves chaging here and Halloween. I wouldnt even be suprised if it opened with 5 million because this can't be good. Do you think Santa Clause 2 would do good if it was relased in September. Hell no. So why would a lower budget film with no big names (Ben Affleck is not a big name he uses his good looks to get around) to do good in october. Hell no.
Not sure about I love Huckabees so i'll just agree with everyone here and say about 5.1

Well, I thought I Heart Huckabees was the most disappointing movie of the year.
Maybe I just didn't "get it", but I dunno...

Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if The Grudge cleared $30 million this weekend. Halloween is right around the corner, the ads are all over the place, it actually looks scary, it's PG-13, there hasn't been a horror flick in a while... I just think all the cards are lined up.

I say over 10m for Surviving Christmas but not over 15m, with okay legs it should make like 45m.

I said this on BOM, but anyway, let me repeat myself. This is like that weekend from last month all over again when Sky Captain opened and did rather poorly, and the next week The Forgotten opened and did over 20 million. And The Forgotten was the last horror movie to be released, so... yeah. It's about time for a new one, and The Grudge has had really effective TV spots, a lot better then The Forgotten's, in my opinion. The Grudge just has perfect timing, and excellent promotion.
1. The Grudge - $24.8 million
2. Shark Tale - $14.9 million
3. Surviving Christmas - $12.2 million
4. Friday Night Lights - $9.1 million
5. Team America: World Police - $7.2 million
6. Shall We Dance? - $6.8 million
7. Ladder 49 - $5.7 million
8. I <3 Huckabees - $4.3 million
9. Taxi - $3.8 million
10. The Forgotten - $3.1 million

The Ring was released in only 1981 theaters, while The Grudge is in over 3000 theaters. I'm going to look closely to the screen counts per theater, but a PTA of $6000 should be easy.

I think that Shark Tale will drop like 30% but I wouldn't be suprised to see a lower drop.
