yeah pretty much, most places i have been range from £5.50 (£10.20) to £8.00 ($14.80).
Unless you go to London where you can expect to pay about £10 - 12.00 in the evening ($18.50 - $22.20).

London is one of the most expensive cities in the world, more expensive than any North American one (though NYC I think comes close in some parts).
I'm not surprised at all.
Paris is hugely expensive as well, but I think that the gov't offers cuts on movie tickets or something, so they stay relatively down (though still expensive, I bet).

Cities like Rome and Paris are expensive.
But London goes beyond expensive. They wanted to charge me £2 (over $4) for a can of Coke. Tht was two years ago :?

Sounds like London
I think NYC's Financial District has Coke at $4 as well. Ridiculous prices, really.

@box
I was pretty thirsty, but I'll never be THAT thirsty, I think
I wanted to see Minority Report, but wasn't in the mood to pay £10 for the show.
I found a discount theatre and saw Jason X (one year before its DTV release in Germany) for £4,50

England average income is £34,197 according to the BBC website ($63,500) per year, which sounds about right to me. No idea what that is per hour though. Everything is expensive here, but then, we don't know any different!

Even the matinees here are more expensive than $6.25, usually between $7 and $8.
Last night, Meet the Fockers costed me $11 a ticket.
