Sold Out Trailers: Ocean's Twelve The Movie: Now I know that there has been quite a few negative reviews, but I think in the end the only opinion that matters is your own. Yet I still went into the movie with very high expectations. And the film met each and every one of them. The movie was fantastic. From the opening credits in Greek (which were very tastefully done, I might add) to the Battle of Gaugamela, I was hooked the whole way. The acting is superb. I think Colin really suprised me as Alexander. His performance was outstanding. Angelina and Val shine in their supporting roles as well. Vangelis's score was exceptional, and the same can be said of the cinematography, costume design, and special f/x. Some people might not like the film because of the bisexuality (there's no sex between males, but it's shown that they have love for each other), but that's what Alexander was, and if that offends you, then don't see it. But if you can look past that, then there is a lot to be had here. My Rating: A+ If you guys have any questions, just post them. Hell, I made it to the part where you said this movie has had quite a few negative reviews lately and that it's your own opinion that matters the most and stopped reading and thought: TRANSLATED = This film truly sucks donkey balls and you want your hard earned $$$ back for the time you wasted, right?? Gotcha.. 8)
Holy crap how can you be such a hypocrite just look at your sig.

Alexander
AMC Marple 10
11:30am, 200 Seater, 60% Full
Trailers
The Ring Two (Looks awesome)
The Life Aquatic (Looks terrible... :runs:)
The Interpreter (Looks interesting)
Ocean's Twelve (Can't wait)
The Phantom of the Opera (Not my kinda thing)
Movie
Oh... my... god. I should have listened to the critics just this once. This movie is an incredible waste of time. A 3-hour borefest with bad accents. I'll write a full review later and post it in the Your Take section and it'll be on my reviews page, but damn, this is one of the most dissapointing movies I've seen all year. C-

The Spongebob Squarepants Movie
1:20 PM, Springfield 8, Missouri
55% full in a 150-seater
Trailers:
Lemony Snicket - Great reaction
Fat Albert - OK reaction, but few laughs
Hitchhiker's Guide to Galaxy - people wanted to see it
The Movie:
I loved it! It was perfectly stupid and many great parts. (BALD! BALD! MY EYES!) The live-action scenes were great as well, Hasselholf was very weird. The music in this was also excellent, and the animation was very vibrant and bright. Alec Baldwin did a good job as Dennis.
Grade: 90.5 , A- (Better than Incredibles & Shrek 2 in my opinion, but I'm a Spongebob fanatic if you can't tell  )

Here is the Matinee business at my theater (in color).
Polar Express 10:50 (90 seater) - 67% full. 11:45 (90 seater) - 17% full. 1:25 (90 seater) - 70% full. 2:20 (90 seater) - Sold Out. 4:05 (90 seater) - 67% full. 5:00 (90 seater) - 61% full. The first good crowd we've ever had here.
Spongebob 10:40 (600 seater) - 5% full. 11:20 (135 seater) - 30% full. 12:15 (200 seater) - 37% full. 1:00 (600 seater) - 16% full. 1:45 (135 seater) - 84% full. 2:40 (200 seater) - 50% full. 3:25 (150 seater) - 50% full. 4:10 (135 seater) - 55% full. 5:10 (200 seater) - 54% full. 5:55 (150 seater) - 41% full. I was expecting better than this.
Christmas with the Kranks 11:10 (150 seater) - 8% full. 12:05 (200 seater) - 32% full. 1:05 (250 seater) - 32% full. 1:50 (150 seater) - 50% full. 2:35 (200 seater) - 37% full. 3:40 (250 seater) - 27% full. 4:30 (150 seater) - 41% full. 5:15 (200 seater) - 37% full. I guess it is not popular here.
Alexander 10:40 (250 seater) - 10% full. 11:30 (150 seater) - 18% full. 12:10 (600 seater) - 9% full. 2:30 (250 seater) - 66% full. 3:20 (600 seater) - 23% full. 4:00 (600 seater) - 21% full. Pretty much stable with the other two days. Though Nighttime business is picking up majorly, with 90 tickets sold for out 6:20 show so far.
Finding Neverland 10:30 (300 seater) - 7% full. 11:50 (300 seater) - 6% full. 1:15 (300 seater) - 17% full. 2:30 (300 seater) - 27% full. 3:50 (300 seater) - 33% full. 5:20 (300 searer) - 22% full. Pretty Good.
Kinsey (150 seater) 11:10 - 3% full. 2:00 - 16% full. 4:50 - 10% full. Why wasn't Polar Express playing in any of these theaters?
Incredibles 10:30 (400 seater) - 8% full. 11:30 (150 seater) - 35% full. 12:00 (150 seater) - 29% full. 12:30 (90 seater) - 41% full. 12:30 (135 seater) - 47% full. 1:30 (400 seater) - 36% full. 2:00 (100 seater) - 46% full. 2:25 (150 seater) - 73% full. 3:00 (150 seater) - 75% full. 3:30 (90 seater) - 56% full. 3:30 (135 seater) - 59% full. 4:35 (400 seater ) - 28% full. 5:05 (100 seater) - 58% full. 5:30 (150 seater) - 52% full. Still Incredible at our theater.
National Treasure 10:55 (400 seater) - 6% full. 11:40 (175 seater) - 17% full. 12:20 (150 seater) - 52% full. 1:55 (400 seater) - 34% full. 2:45 (175 seater) - 83% full. 3:25 (150 seater) - Sold Out. 4:55 (400 seater) - 61% full. 5:50 (175 seater) - 48% full. So Far, this is the biggest grosser of the day. I see a strong sophmore session for this.
Overall, it was a solid, but not spectacular matinee.

my 18-screen theater in Albany, NY
National Treasure
11:40 (125 seater) SOLD OUT
12:40 (155 seater) SOLD OUT
2:50 (125 seater) SOLD OUT
3:50 (155 seater) SOLD OUT
4:50 (385 seater) 40% sold
6:20 (125 seater) SOLD OUT
7:10 (155 seater) SOLD OUT
7:50 (385 seater) SOLD OUT
9:20 (125 seater) SOLD OUT
10:00 (155 seater) SOLD OUT
this is no joke guys, 9 shows sold out, I'm pretty sure they're gonna move NT to bigger auditoriums for Saturday
Incredibles
11:10 (385 seater) 30% sold
12:10 (125 seater) 90% sold
1:10 (160 seater) 90% sold
2:00 (385 seater) 40% sold
3:00 (125 seater) 90% sold
4:00 (160 seater) 90% sold
6:30 (125 seater) SOLD OUT
7:30 (160 seater) 80% sold
9:15 (125 seater) 80% sold
Polar Express
10:45 (80-seater) 80% sold
11:30 (140-seater) 60% sold
1:00 (80-seater) SOLD OUT
1:45 (140-seater) SOLD OUT
4:15 (140-seater) SOLD OUT
7:00 (140-seater) SOLD OUT 1 hour early!
9:15 (140-seater) SOLD OUT
probably should move it into bigger theater, maybe one of Kranks.
Christmas with the Kranks (on 3 screens) - 2 300 seaters and 1 200 seater
no specific figures, but averaged 40% capacity, which is OK, not great
8:00 show was the closest to selling out, with 80% capacity in a 200 seater
Finding Neverland (on one 365 seater) - averaged 40% capacity
Spongebob (two 200 seaters) - averaged 50% capacity, not good at all
Alexander (averaged 30% capacity during the matinee on two medium screens, TERRIBLE, during the evening, though...)
7:20 (135 seater) SOLD OUT
8:20 (190 seater) 90% sold
9:40 (300 seater) 30% sold (HAHA!)
Sideways (80-seater)
6:45 SOLD OUT
9:35 SOLD OUT
Bridget Jones (80-seater) only averaged 50% capacity, BAD!
Saw, at 8:15 (80-seater) 90% sold
Grudge, at 7:40 (200-seater) 40% sold
Seed of Chucky, at 6:00 (80-seater) 70% sold
Overall, it was the least busy Black Friday I've ever worked, with all the new movies bringing down business. Only National Treasure did spectacular, while the holdovers were forced to sell out on small screens. There should be some definite chnage in auditoriums to maximize capacity in the movies that are actually doing something. I got off an hour and a half early, a first for Black Friday, I can't complain
