Boundin' was awful.

The Incredibles is the worst movie Pixar has made. It is a James Bond movie without being fun, kinda like OHMSS, if you know what I mean. My kid wanted to go home after an hour. My wife hated it and so did I. The best part about it was that it finally ended after the most boring two hours at the movies this year.

I did not find anything inventive about the script or the movie. The only time I even chuckled was almost at the end when little baby Jack did all the impersonations. This piece of crap will not have good legs.

Grade: F

Haha! Thats such a stupid review its funny.

7 people? So it was you, your wife, and kids, and what, one other person? I find that SO impossible to believe unless you were watching this movie in some Wyoming ghetto in the middle of nowhere in some vicious natural disaster where nobody is at the movies. It so implausable its friggin hillarious.

Before you make any more idiotic comments, I urge you to call the theater and ask them yourself as to how many people were there for that show.

Considering nearly everyone that saw it seemed to have loved it except for you, I'm not sure that's a fair assessment.

It is not universally loved like you think. Talk to your friends and coworkers who are casual movie-goers and get their opinion.

What is that comment supposed to mean? I think of myself as a casual moviegoer, and I loved it. I think I am even harded to impress than most moviegoers and I thought it was a wonderfully crafted film. I think you are in a VERY small majority and you have problems accepting that fact. Nobody's saying its wrong for you to feel that way, but don't act like such an ass towards the film.

With an average grade of an A- on Yahoo, over 95% on RT, 8.7/10 on IMDB, and a huge opening weekend, I see no indication of why this movie would have bad legs. It wasn't even close to being frontloaded, so that's out. Competition is tough, but I don't see bad legs for it. This movie is a huge hit, and the majority of people love it.

Saw The Incredibles last night at 7:30. Packed house, sold out. Not much reaction from any of the trailers (then again, who'd react to Madagascar, Racing Stripes, Son of the Mask, etc.)

Despite the film lacking some of the wit and hilarious dialogue of its predecessors, I loved it. Big, bright, colorful, entertaining, and clever.

I'd even say that it is the most entertaining film I've seen all year.

I'll go into more detail later.

A/A-

The Incredibles
1:15 show, 300-seat auditorium, 75% full.

Trailers (no EP3 trailer, for some reason)
Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events - a lot of talking
The Polar Express - mild chatter
National Treasure - silence
Madagascar - nothing audible
Christmas with the Kranks - laughs
Cars - surprisingly small reaction (it doesn't look very good)

Movie
The Incredibles is the worst film made by Pixar so far. However, it's still a great movie, which goes to show you how amazing Pixar's films have all been. I thought the film had a sluggish, boring first-third. However, the movie skyrockets after a certain point and becomes an exciting, funny and joyful ride. As the vocal characterizations, everyone does well. Craig T. Nelson/Coach (did he sound like Patrick Warburton here, or is it just me) is good, as are Samuel L. Jackson (despite not having a lot to do/say) and Jason Lee (as the film's villain). However, Holly Hunter stands out as Elastigirl. It's been a very long time since a female voice-over portrayl was so warm and motherly (not to mention dead-on). For writer-director Brad Bird, this is a worthy successor to his first film, The Iron Giant. Although The Incredibles never reachs the heights of Toy Story 1 + 2, Finding Nemo, Monsters Inc or A Bug's Life, it's certainly good enough that it deserves to stand alongside all of those. A-

If it was like On Her Majesty's Secret Service, The Incredibles would be the best Pixar movie that is painfully misunderstood by an audience that rushes to judgement. ;)

But no, The Incredibles is "okay". Technically it's brilliant, and that accounts for most of my positive review. It is funny in many places but largely disjointed in others. It does not have the sense of fun, adventure or drama that the other Pixar films have.

The superhero "thing" is kind of worn out its welcome at this point. Since X-Men in 1999, we've continuously had the superhero genre approached, reapproached, torn to pieces, we've had classics made, and some of the worst films have come from it as well. Seeing superheros having to, again, learn that their powers make them "special, but not better than everyone else, just special" again and again has proved exhausting. It's just not the right time for The Incredibles in my view.

B+ (which is a downgrade from Saturday :()

Trailers: National Treasure, Spongebob, The new Polar Express trailer, which is better than the last one but still crappy.

You are one of the minority but vocal supporters of OHMSS :) I have had to deal with two of my childhood buddies with the same issue for over twenty years. OHMSS is too weird to be a fun bond movie and Lazenby didn't help either.
