 It Ends With Us
Quote: EXCLUSIVE: The first trailer for Sony Pictures and Wayfarer Studios‘ It Ends With Us, exec produced by and starring Blake Lively, has made quite an impact since its launch last Thursday.
Garnering 128.1M views in its first 24 hours, according to WaveMetrix, the trailer has hit 222M as of today. For the sake of comparison, the trailer for Uni’s Wicked — the first of two new films based on the musical — landed 112.9M views in its first day of release, with pop culture phenomenon Barbie bringing in just 101.6M in the same period. Other recent films that have seen their trailers bested in this metric include Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour (96.2M), The Marvels (90.6M), Mean Girls (79.3M), Challengers (75.0M) and The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes (61.6M), to name just a few. https://deadline.com/2024/05/it-ends-wi ... 235927513/I remember reading Corpse's brief book sales thread in the Water Cooler where Colleen Hoover was dominant so guess it makes sense, though the trailer looks like a TV movie to me.

 Re: It Ends With Us
It's going to be big but I also feel like the Taylor Swift association and song is definitely giving it a lift. I feel like Swift will be front and center to show up to the premiere for Blake support since she got it in the NFL so will probably be Blake's biggest career hit.

 Re: It Ends With Us
DHD: Ends With Us’ went on sale last Wednesday with presales outstripping that of Sony’s summer 2022 romance title Where the Crawdads Sing by nearly 4x in its first day. Yeah this is breaking out big time! https://deadline.com/2024/07/blake-live ... 236017671/

 Re: It Ends With Us
The book is pretty big and there hasn't really been a big film for females this summer yet... wonder how high it could go.

Yeah, this will be a biggie. A $50m+ OW would not surprise me.

A $50m opening would surprise me, regardless of what the presales say. I had this film pegged at about $20m total

I should've made a 30 million+ club thread before the pre sales made it easy

 Re: It Ends With Us
The book is hugely popular apparently and the marketing has been good so far.
Lively being all over the media now for her connection or role in Deadpool and Wolverine can only help further.

 Re: It Ends With Us
The trailer did have something. I could definitely see it being popular with teenage girls and young women. Those poor boyfriends being dragged to this.

 Re: It Ends With Us
I still think it looks like they cheaped out with wooden male actors etc. and weren't expecting much of this, but it may not matter with those book sales.

I think it will mostly be women going with their girlfriends or even their moms. I thought it looked decent initially, but now I'm kind of looking forward to it. I'm a HUGE Ethel Cain fan, and the latest trailer using her song "Strangers" has increased my anticipation.

Its impossible for the movie to open that low. I think its locked for 45m+ with its pace is simply awesome. How much higher depends on the finish but its going to be a fun weekend Blake vs Ryan.

As in "I would still be surprised by such a huge opening because I had this film pegged at $20m before presales began".
