 Re: Gladiator 2 predictions
Denzel is playing his Training Day character's Ancestor in the movie, lol.
Bad trailer imo.

 Re: Gladiator 2 predictions
Looks decent but the soundtrack is a huge miss. Even reading the comments on YT I have to agree they redo the sound asap. Having Denzel doesn't automatically make rap music a fit here. Needs an instrumental.

 Re: Gladiator 2 predictions
Eh. Yeah I'm not sensing a hit. If it's surprisingly great I could see it going for 200m with the holidays but as of now idk.

It looks expensive and also dull.
Thinking 35/100ish run

 Re: Gladiator 2 predictions
Denzel being a bad guy gives this a $100M+ floor at least. His fans show up to almost everything he does outside his artsy films. Add in Thanksgiving, Christmas and awards season and it might be the type of film people see over several weeks (after Moana, Wicked, etc.).

 Re: Gladiator 2 predictions
Trailer looks interesting, I'm not sure about it all artistically, but I looks and feels like a blockbuster, think it will perform as such.

 Re: Gladiator 2 predictions
The trailer didn't do it for me personally. It just seems like a carbon copy of the first film but without a presence like Russell Crowe or Joaquin Phoenix.

 Re: Gladiator 2 predictions
It starts off good with the hark back to Gladiator but then descends into "bigger is better" sequel territory. Plus they show way too much (so I skimmed through). Visuals look good but Scott's films rarely fail on that front. However, as much as I love Denzel - hearing his voice and mannerisms in this threw me off.
Box office: solid opening but poor legs.

 Re: Gladiator 2 predictions
Ridley’s films gotta be a front for money laundering at this point, no way anyone gave him that budget thinking he’d make it back
