Actually has a chance of breaking even in USA run only.
no.
According to Fangoria's Wes Craven interview article, this movie's budget is rumored about $75-80 million.
In fact, most of the cast were changed, so the cost shouldn't be low.
Special Effects company was changed, too.

They won't get correct budget until Sunday.
BOM is the site which stated that SON OF THE MASK budget is $100 million.

Cursed's production budget alone costs more than what they paid for to acquire Darkness. I don't think a 22m final gross for Cursed would qualify it as a success.
Considering its low gross on opening day, it doesn't look like it'll make that much more.

Agreed, it should land somewhere in the low 20's for a final gross.

CURSED according to BOP also cost close to $40m, which is also exactly what IMDB and BOM state. $35m-40m.
Cursed will do around $50,000,000 worldwide. Perhaps more.

Accordin to this site, $35 million is this movie's orignal budget
http://www.zap2it.com/movies/details/1, ... 89,00.html
Brandon Gray has some interesting points
http://boxofficemojo.com/news/?id=1736&p=.htm
Cursed lived up to its title, instead of sharing in the recent horror spoils, because it did not have a creepy premise or trailer. It was more about transformation a la Teen Wolf where the lead characters could be the killers, instead of innocent victims being tormented as in Boogeyman, The Grudge and others. Werewolf pictures have had limited appeal in recent decades, the average one making about $20 million.

Now see?? I don't believe that at all.. I think if The HOWLING were released today, it would be a hit, but when this movie was made, you didn't see the studios reworking the movie and editing it down to nothing like they did with CURSED.. The studio killed this movie, not Wes Craven..

Dimension's trick on "Cursed"
http://www.bloody-disgusting.com/index. ... e=newsfull
I think that it is true.... AICN has posted several reviews for R-rated version

Does their plan hurt the film? I don't know.
I only know that this $70+ million movie gets under $10 million opening weekend.

Amityville is owned by MGM and DIMENSION.
MGM releases it in US. DIMENSION releases this movie in select terrories(not US).

All of the posters say "R" and I don't think it is actually possible to release the movie without the "R" rating. So I would be very surprised if it was suddenly edited.

OK, I'm asking because I just read at BLOODY DISGUSTING how DIMENSION Pulled this Godawful Marketing Bullshit and showed R-Rating Screenings of CURSED to get favorable Online reviews and then pulled this PG-13 Edit from hell on us and released CURSED as PG-13 and NOT The R-Rating that was screened for folks before it came out..

However, DIMENSION doesn't handle the US release of Amityville.
MGM handles it.
