Good move for DOH, tons of competition on that day. Major dissapointment with Unleashed, it was finished and in the can in late September. Stupid America taking so long to get it out there... Not surprised with The Fantastic Four either, War of the Worlds was clearly the bigger dog.

Fantastic Four finally gave up and moved away from The War of the Worlds. That increased the latter's potential even more.
Interesting move by Unleashed. Don't know why they want it to be sandwiched between Kingdom of Heaven and Star Wars. Black Mask is the only other Jet Li movie that opened in May, but that's back when he was a smaller star in the states.

Probably means they liked what they saw and thought it could do well awards wise. Maybe Carrey will finally get his Oscar nomination.

Hmmm, did you read the film's synopsis? It sounds like anything, but an Oscar film.
I think they are much rather going for a Meet the Fockers-like release.

20th Century Fox was smart to back it up. They will make a lot more money putting it out on July 8th, than they would have by trying to make profits off of a 4th of July weekend release date marketing campaign. War of the Worlds is Spielberg, Cruise, and a popular H.G.Welles alien story, and that = $$$$$$$$$$$$. No sense letting that hurt you at the box office. Fantastic Four has too much potential to lose out in a hype war, and it would lose.

Yep thats the only logical thing Fox could do. This is great for Fantastic and War of the Worlds.
Dick and Jane's move makes Hazzards move a good one now.
Good news all around.

I really want to see The Wedding Crashers, I really love Rachel McAdams and I heard it's going to be R.

It will only be good if they cast someone like Kathy Bates in the Shelley Winters role so we can see her swim in an evening gown!
The only thing about Poseidon Adventure is that it's being directed by Wolfgang Petersen, which is an interesting choice.

I guess he will mirror his own movie, the Perfect Storm. Not too much of a remake since he already did a ship disaster movie

I doubt it dude, if you've seen the original Poseidon Adventure it's miles different from The Perfect Storm. Personally, I can not wait for this, it has a huge amount of potential, and this is coming from a guy who grew up on the original.
