Dua Lipa is kind of like if/when they make a robot pop star. A good fit for this time period but can only become so popular I guess compared to easier to connect with Swift.

It took me a little bit but greedy clicked with me now, I would be ok with it making a run at #1

Jack Harlow is ok but I appreciate that a popular rapper’s voice sounds clear compared to the autotune sound of Drake and Post Malone

Did Dolly get her first ever #1 album like I was hearing about?

I kept hearing it would be her first ever #1 if it managed to do it.

It sounds like it would have been her first, but she didn’t finish at overall #1, just on physical sales.

Big Billboard 100 news, we have a new holiday #1!

It's Mariah....no its BRENDA!

After continually being #2 behind Mariah Brenda Lee has done it with her first #1, 65 years after the song came out! Is now just the THIRD holiday song ever to reach #1 behind Chipmunks and Mariah.

I'm excited about this. I thought she'd always be behind Mariah and never reach #1. For anyone counting, since 2019-2022 she was #2 for NINE weeks.

This is the 65th anniversary of the song so it got its first official video, featuring cameos from country stars Tanya Tucker and Trisha Yearwood, she performed at NBC’s Christmas at the Opry, Lee also joined TikTok, and went viral taking over a plane intercom.

She had the most Hot 100 hits (46) in the 60s for women.

She shatters the record for the longest wait from a song’s release – 65 years – to it hitting No. 1, surpassing the 25-year gap between the release of Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas Is You” in 1994 and its rise to No. 1 in 2019.

She breaks the record for longest climb to No. 1 on the Hot 100 from a song’s debut on the chart (63 years less 3 days).

Longest span between #1 songs from an artist ever at 63 years and 4 months.

Senior-most artist to top the chart ever surpassing Louis Armstrong, who was 62 when “Hello, Dolly!” led in 1964. Among women, Lee passes Cher, who was 52 when “Believe” ruled the Hot 100.

Lee at 78 now was only 13 when she recorded the single.

Wow! What a record breaking week! Go Brenda!!!

Wow Mariah isn't going to just breeze by Old Town Road's record after all. I'm cool with a little bit of Christmas warfare every year.

Taylor had 5 of the top ten albums this week. I guess buying her vinyls on black friday is a thing now?

Brenda Lee holds #1 for a second week! Gained 18% in streams.

I saw so much coverage about her historic #1 so glad to see her pull another week. Mariah has been held back from #1 for another week.

She turns 79 today, so that sounds like a good bday to have the #1 song in the country.

Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas Is You” repeats at No. 2 on the Hot 100, with across-the-board gains in streams (38.5 million, up 19%), airplay (24.1 million, up 12%) and sales (5,000, up 29%).

Bobby Helms’ “Jingle Bell Rock” (4-3), from 1957, and Wham!’s “Last Christmas” (5-4), from 1984.

Jack Harlow’s “Lovin on Me” is #5.

Is Mariah going to be denied #1 all month?!

I know it can get old hearing the same song(s) again and again this time of year, but I think Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree is among the most over-played and tiring out of the bunch. Glad Lee got #1 after all this time but hope it's not the new #1 all December moving forward.

I doubt it will be in future years at this level. It was the 65th anniversary, got a big Tiktok and marketing push to get it there.

The minute Taylor Swift does a full holiday album we'll know our #1 for the next 25 years this time of year. :funny:

Now that you mention it, why isn't Christmas Tree Farm charting right now? Is there a set number of years a song has to wait before being introduced into the Christmas song rotation?

I heard a Meghan Trainor/Jimmy Fallon one Wrap Me Up that seems like a candidate to get on the rotation

Shame for Greedy (helped by Tate McRae’s album release) that it would have been #2 if this was a non Christmas week instead of #9.

Dua's Houdini is amazing. Deserves so much more success.

Even here in Oz it peaked at No.7 and that was it.

I'm a bit shocked that Lee managed to return to #1 and not just ride the initial wave.

I think there is some holiday fatigue (overexposure of All I Want For Christmas) as the default song so people were open to mixing it up. I believe I read Wham's Last Christmas reached #1 for the first time in the UK this past holiday season too.

I wouldn't be shocked to see more holiday songs get bigger rotations around anniversaries. Wham's Last Christmas reaching #4 and Jingle Bell Rock at #3 feel like they could sneak up to #1 in a the next 3-5 years as well.
