I just mentioned couple of days before in one of my posts that I have a new born daughter.

Getting personal is somehow allowed here? or because it is called The Water Cooler Algren can make fun of me. I have Algren in my ignore list but I just checked out his post was made exactly after the other post he quoted me on about me having an offspring.

Guys cool it with the Jack Sparrow jibes. I don't know if ive missed any major arguments but why pick on him? What purpose does it serve? He's a good poster and if you don't like him put him on ignore.

It's not picking on him. When people say stupid things, it sticks in people's minds and they mention it from time to time because they cannot put up with the idiocy. That's normal. It's not suddenly called bullying. zwackerm says some stupid things. Lecter notices this. Sparrow says stupid things. I notice it. No big deal.

Everybody gets "picked on" here, but most people don't act like real babies and start crying about every comment. Most people, like myself, just roll with the punches. I get insulted on this board when I'm not even part of the discussion. It's like water off a duck's back. Don't sit in the toilet if you don't want to get pissed on.

Depending on the level of personal "attack", it's fine. This thread didn't strike me as being "korrgan" level mean, nor did it strike me as being an attack on his new child.

If it was, then yes, I would ban Algren.

This is more of a "FAIL" thread than it is a personal attack, imo.

1) Chip is correct, we generally don't police arguments with the exception of attacks that get personal in nature.
2) I was unaware you just had a daughter, congrats! I'll be following you soon, exciting times!
3) I didn't read this as an attack on your daughter, it's a picture of someone failing adorably, I assumed he was poking fun at you for failing in some way I was unaware of.

Bottom line, I don't think the thread was meant the way you took it. Algren, cool it going forward, it obviously bothers him to be singled out in such a manner.

I'm fine with this if it wasn't supposed to be personal attack. I don't want Algren banned but there is no point of him making a thread on my name, we don't have any other Jack Sparrow's on the forum. Plus I've done my best to avoid any arguments with him.

The gif in itself is fine and actually funny. Everyone has a dig at each other so that's no big deal either. More the fact that he took it as a dig about his new baby. But seeing as it wasn't meant that way - then lets forget about the whole thing.

Okay, yeah, it's not really. But this is what I do as a mod, I try to separate between light-hearted fun and deliberate attacks (for which Algren has been banned before). I don't think Algren actually hates Jack Sparrow or is out to offend him greatly.

Okay, see, now THAT is offensive on the other hand. At least it can be to some people and it would be their right to be offened in that situation. I did not see that post before, though. I am pretty sure the gif has nothing to do with your child, BUT that still doesn't make the comment above right.
