 Eating at a Restaurant alone
Any one have an issue with eating dinner at a restaurant on your lonesome?
I often do it when I'm travelling on business (like now) and have no issue with it. It's certainly easy when I'm dressed in a suit and at the hotel restaurant as there are many that are in the same situation but I'm ok with it in general when I travel but can't really do it when I'm at home.
Now I'm waiting for my food and polishing off a double shot of Johnny Black hole posting here. It's relaxing.
What about you guys?

I don't think I've ever done this.
I mean, I ate at Chipotle once by myself. It was ok.

You can always pretend that you have a prostitute under the table doing stuff. So the other people will think " Ah ok easy the poor guy is not alone".

Re: Eating at a Restaurant alone
yeah, if it's a fast food place or I'm on a lunch break I don't really mind. If it's a crowded restaurant at night I'd feel weird but I think sitting at the bar or something wouldn't be so bad, haven't done it before though.

I'm at a restaurant alone right now. Girlfriend I was supposed to meet couldn't come last minute. Doesn't bother me as long as I have my phone.

yeah, I go to the movies alone all the time and I don't mind. I know no one who wants to go to the movies as much as I do.

Lol I'm way more comfortable alone at movies or restaurants than with people, so I can't really relate

I only ask someone to go with me when it's something like Fast 6 or Hangover. I have no movie-loving friends. But I don't mind it either, I like going to the movies alone.

Re: Eating at a Restaurant alone
I have no issues with it. I'd prefer the bar though, waiters seem to get more touchy with 1 person at a table for 4 (I know I did, especially during a rush). I'll go out with friends, or dates, but I prefer eating alone. I'll sit at the bar and strike up a conversation with the bartender or someone. I find it fun, you never know what's going to happen unless you go outside your comfort zone. I've met celebrities, gotten dates, and even jobs from basic bar conversation.
There's really no reason to feel awkward about doing something on your own.

Re: Eating at a Restaurant alone
Going solo to the movies is a lot easier, because nobody is really judging you. But going to dinner alone? I would feel like everyone was wondering why I was alone.

Re: Eating at a Restaurant alone
It's not like the 5th grade when you sit at the communal table and no one is around you. No one will judge you. Enjoying a burger has nothing to do with the people around you. Either way what's the different almost 10/10 times you'll never even see them again. It's like you've never eaten at a food court our a rest stop on the highway.

Completely different than a restaurant.

I live in a small town and went to see The Lego Movie by myself. A bunch of people I know then shuffled in with their kids.
I felt really awkward.
Normally I feel perfectly fine.

Going to the movies by yourself is the best.
Except for comedies.

Re: Eating at a Restaurant alone
I have no issue with it for breakfast or lunch locally, but I don't do it often.
If I am out of town and need to eat dinner solo at a nicer place, I'll eat at the bar. But often when I'm traveling, the best bet is room service.
Traveling? I've thought about it. It can be nice to go on a mini road trip solo. Eat whatever fast food you want because no one's judging. But a true vacation? Eh.

Re: Eating at a Restaurant alone
I'm going on my first cruise. And I'm going alone. Was suppose to go with my GF, but I broke up with her on Friday. I'm still excited for it.
