Post The 2nd Annual WoKJ MPAs (Nomination Ceremony Tonight!)
Your WoKJ Motion Picture Award planners have come to a consensus and the event's ready to begin!

1) The Passion System - Like AMPAS now does, we will be creating nominations based on a passion system. We request that you RANK your movies from 1 to 5, with 1 being the highest and 5 being the lowest. The nominees with the most points (#1 rank gets 5 pts, #2 rank gets 4 pts, #3 rank gets 3 pts, #4 rank gets 2 pts, #5 rank gets 1 pt) will get nomination spots. Theoretically, if five of you ganged up and put Paris Hilton as your #1 choice for Best Supporting Actress, she could walk away with a MPA nomination...The movie with the most votes overall (as in mentions, not points) will, however, also get a nomination. If you choose not to cast your ballot in such a way, all of your mentions will get 1 point each. To avoid having your say minimized, put numbers from 1-5 besides your nominees in each category. Also, all PM's that are ranked must say "RANKED" on the top of the PM, otherwise all nominations will count as 1 point each.

2) We request that votes be sent to BallotPM, just like in the Poster Awards. BallotPM will not harass users like he did last time...

3) Ballots must be sent by February 15.

4) Please try and vote for five different actors, films, etc. in each category.

5) The Categories:
Best Picture
Best Director
Best Actor
Best Actress
Best Supporting Actor
Best Supporting Actress
Best Original Screenplay
Best Adapted Screenplay
Best Ensemble
Best Score
Best Documentary
Best Foreign Film
Best Horror
Best Comedy
Best Sequel/Remake
Best Editing
Entertainer of the Year
Breakthrough Performance of the Year
Best Cinematography
Best Visual Effects
Best Designed Film (Best Makeup, Best Costume Design, Best Art Direction)

Best Overlooked Film (After Nomination Round)

Please refer to the Category Confusion thread if you have any questions. Be sure to consider writing (and, we hope, presenting) a speech. Details on hosting will be brought up later. Oh, and do remember to floss.

Love,

Dr. Lecter, loyalfromlondon, torrino, and Zingaling (your WoKJ MPA Planners)

The Presenters:

Best sequel and horror film, yet Art Direction, Costume, AND Makeup were shoved in together?

Thats disappointing

... Though I am happy to see the inclusion of the Oscar 5pt system. I think it's the best way to do it.

Your post isn't constructive in the least, because you had already stated your opinion in the other thread. Your opinion was considered. Stop whining.

Wait, where is Soundtrack? We didn't discuss that we are going to remove that category, did we? Because I'd be against it since we already get rid of Song. Could we add that back?

Also, all PM's that are ranked must say "RANKED" on the top of the PM, otherwise all nominations will count as 1 point each.

Think instead of this as it will mess up the nominations > why don't you count the first one as the top 5 and then down as it is listed.

This would seem to make sense as most would list there favorites on top.

note > only suggestion - your choice if you want to use.

Not necessarily, Goldie. We're only making this note because with the Poster Awards, it was clearly stated that you could only vote a certain number of times for each user (which was exceeded), and that torrino or myself couldn't recieve votes, but some people still voted. It shows that not everyone reads the first post and just copy/pastes that categories.

Because of this, we'll have to do it like it's stated. If we see "ranked" on the top of the PM, we know that the person read the instructions and we can give the proper points, but if someone didn't notice and listed them in alphabetical order or random order, it wouldn't give the most accurate results possible. So, for those ballots, all nominations will recieve a point each.
