Post Alien Meds!
Bwahahahaha!

They're putting little antennas on medicine bottles that "bark."

Quote:
"It's basically a bar code that barks," said one expert, Robin Koh, director of applications research at the Auto-ID Labs of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. The technology, Mr. Koh said, could "make supply chains more efficient and more secure."

Wal-mart is leading the way, pushing their top 100 suppliers to comply...and guess who their in collaboration with? The Department of Defense!

The Department of Defense? You ask. Why yes...how this is a threat to national security is anyone's guess? Maybe next they'll recruit the border patrol and mobilize them against the other Alien Meds...the one's crossing the border everyday from Canada. Or maybe the entire libido of this nation has dropped?

Quote:
The Food and Drug Administration and several major drug makers are expected to announce initiatives today that will put tiny radio antennas on the labels of millions of medicine bottles to combat counterfeiting and fraud.

Among the medicines that will soon be tagged are Viagra, one of the most counterfeited drugs in the world..."

And we all know in today's virility charged national discourse, losing one's ability to maintain an erection for 4 hours can have serious national repercussions.

Geez, what a spin. They're talking about RFID-tags. Don't like them? Don't buy products that have them.

DOLCE!!!!!

those antennas are RFID chips.

you wanna know whats funny!?!? My company makes these people compliable to this mandate!!

Seriously, I'm incharge of the creation of the software around these antennas so companies can be compliant not only to those throwwing out these mandates but also for their own benefit .. this little technology is amaaazing!!! I'm at this very moment surrounded by atleast 15 of these tags and a couple of readers and antennas ...

The dept of defense wants to use it as well like you mentioned .. this has nothing at all to do with security but more to do with a logistic supply chain (meaning saving money, being faster and having less wastage)

I can send you guys a million resources ... I know almost everything that there is to know about these stupid god damned chips ....

btw, anyone whos even considering item level tagging right now has no idea what theyre talking about .. sure it can be carried out on certain things but the cost is too high to even consider it on a bottle of water or a pack of gum.

More so, even though a few retail initiatives have been taken, do not expect any real time implementation for years ... there are too many issues when it comes to dealing with consumers that need to be sorted out first.

Europe is far more advanced right now in passive RFID technology that you'll see in the supply chain industry.

RFID has been around for decades, for animal tracking, and a million other application .. that car key you're holding which has an anti-theft lock? Thats RFID too ...

Well, once Walmart decides to go RFID, then everyone will be forced to implement it, and the price will plummet.

Krem, the tinfoil hats are only required around your genitals and your head if you're sticking the RFID "Reader antennas" all around your head for a period of days lol.

The tags themselves ... theyre completely harmless ... theyre actually dead ...

all they are is an electronic chip and embedded antennas for sending the signal when "awakened"

Heres a pic .... Dolce, when they say antenna, don't think they mean 2 metal poles sticking out ..

Image

That image you're seeing .. the whole thing is as thin as paper and is stuck on with one adhesive side.

Wal-Mart, Albertson, Target and DoD have mandates for 2005. 2006 mandates for every one of their domestic suppliers ... expect worldwide mandates in a matter of years ... theyre still standardizing everything ...

the cost is coming down everyday and major decrease wil come once all suppliers get involved and mass production starts ...

HA! For my sake, I wish they could ... stupid things have trouble penetrating liquid and because its RF, have issues with metal .. if it could even penetrate to your mind, half my physical problems at work would be solved.

I knew what it was referring to, dolce ;-)

But in any case, this is such a non-story. In other news, I hear there's going to be a thing that lets you send letters over the telephone wires, and it won't cost you a penny! Whoopie!
