I don't the head of the mosque is helping the cause of peaceful Islam, if you ask me.

Doesn't seem as cut and dried to me as it does to you. If an artist reacted to one of Sharon's murderous forays by painting a Christian cross or an excerpt from the new Testament near a Synagogue, I'm sure some would complain.

Which is fine, but it doesn't mean that the artist should be silenced.
