There is nothing assinine about anything that Algren said. He was applauding the pope for exercising his freedom of speech. The 'annoy' part is odd, but meh.

So...

What part don't you understand? Why he is defending the pope's right to express his views, or the 'annoy' part. Personally, I'd pick the 'annoy' part. What do you mean by 'still annoy people at his age' Algren? Lovemerox would like to know. And so would I

Why don't you provide some arguments to support your viewpoint so that MG can understand why you disagree with him instead of throwing off some insults?

He was applauding the pope for doing something billions of people do everyday?

If you're going to applaud the pope, do it for something unique he's done.

The fact is, and this is way lovemerox was annoyed by Algren's post, he was just baiting. It's all he does. He goes from thread to thread and baits people into arguments.

It's brilliant to see someone at his age make a difference, well, not a difference as such, but by saying what he said he was influencing something or someone somewhere...one person being Pinkpanther, he was annoyed by what the Pope said.

Only because he is an old man, doesnt mean he is entirely useless.

Sorta thing. :)

I applaude every single human being who has ever exercised their right to express their viewpoint. I even applaude myself. You can never applaude anyone enough for it. It's a beautiful thing, and it's more fragile than you might think.

Btw, could've fooled me as to who was baiting whom. Anyways, is this thread turning into a joke? I'm not sure whether the serious conversation has ceased or not. Too bad if it did.

Wait, what? Annoying someone is not an indication that what you're saying is a good thing. If it gets discussion going, then yeah, it might be good. Applauding someone expressing their freedom of speech, yeah, that's great.

Anyways, warped logic. You seem to be mixing two completely different things here.

What? Algren had not said a single thing in this thread. He comes in, praises the pope's actions (which will obviously piss people off), and gives no reason for why he did so until after the fact.

That's the very definiton of baiting.

Maybe it's not. Canada's human rights legislation has a superb definition:

"A course of vexatious comment or conduct that is known or ought reasonably to be known to be unwelcome"

Algren's post is impulsive, not intentionally vexatious. It's not significant enough to be baiting.

If he said, I applaude the pope for sticking it to the gays and for pissing off lovemerox and Pinkpanther (no puns intended here), then that would approach baiting. Maybe the 'annoy' part implied baiting. It's possible. :-k

No, it is not. At least, it shouldn't be! The idea behind an argument is to win the other side over. If it annoys, that means you've failed.

Stamina? Do you even know what that word means?

And no, i'm not easy to annoy. I'm just fed up with you. Not just in this thread, but your actions all over the board.

Lol, makeshift, the definition is actually for harassment, but it was good enough for baiting (which is a form of harassment).

I forgot to add that to the post! Damn my impulsiveness
