Yeah they are very pretty animals.

Dolce- I kind of went on a whirlwind museum/sights to see thing late part of this summer. it included: Amer. Museum of Natural History (my favorite), Met, Guggeheim, Amer Museum of Moving Image. Add in to the picture the bronx zoo, ny aquarium, central park zoo, it was a busy month!

What did you see at the Guggie? Was it still Brancusi? I dunno, Guggie lets me down alot. I think the last thing I liked there was when they did an exhibition of Frank Gehry with his furniture a few years back. I wish the Morgan wasn't closed until 2006. I'm going up to the Cloisters this Sunday. Have you been there. Its a hike, but the park its set into is very "Victorian" with iron grating everywhere and breathtaking views of the river. Its a fabulous place to walk around in, and feels completely disconnected from the rest of Manhatten. Nice to escape to.

the gugg was actually okay when i went, but I'm not a huge fan myself. brancussi was out, but I went to see a Boccioni exhibit I'd been dying to check out. that alone was worth admission. its a little too artsy for artsy sake. oh I also did the rooftop garden at the met! that is awesome.

I haven't gone to cloisters yet, though heard its awesome.

I'm still rather ticked over moma's hike in fare, thats a favorite too.

any other favorites?

bABA! Did you catch that?

Driveaway, when bABA and Krem came to New York we all met up and I kept trying to push them to meet ontop of the MET. I thought it would be a fitting New York welcome to have a drink up there and see the view. Yeah, is Goldsworthy still up there? He was in late summer when I went up.

My faves, I dunno, I haven't been here that long, and I know there has been alot of changes. I used to like going to the Whitney when ever they have the large chunk of travelling artists from the Venice Biennale. That's about the only contemporary stuff I like. I'm into Art Librarianship, so I tend to lean towards medieval manuscripts etc. Like I said, I;ve never been to the Morgan, or the Grolier club, but I've heard they have a fabulous rare books collection. I was a teeny bit dissappointed by the Museum of the American Indian as well, but I;m very picky.

Not in New York, but in Pittsburg (Which I Pray Eagle has been to at least a couple of times) I also love the Matress Factory. In philly I like their fine art museum better than the MET, but love UPENN's archeology museum even better. Boston, where I'm from, never really held my attention, even the ICA where I used to work.

How about you???
