My point was that people who are racist, evil, or assholes tend to think that everyone thinks just like they do, but are just pretending not to. He responded by confirming my point, by saying that everyone is a racist. He cannot imagine that people do not think like him. He probably surrounds himself with similar people -- because people like us don't want to have anything to do with people like him. These similar people just confirm his theory. And then he gets upset when his wife spends time on her phone instead of talking to him at the restaurant.
