Relationshio, no kids. He lives in Chicago, 8 hours away. Can't wait to sell my house and move there. And wow, people here have a serious lack of kids. I suppose people who have kids are less likely to make time for a place like this.

 Re: Life Status
My wife and I are glad we never had kids. It allowed us to do things we never could have done, like go on private romantic vacations, head to the movies without worrying about finding a babysitter, moving and changing jobs easily, and having extra spending money.
It's not for everyone, and it bugs me when people act like we're being selfish for not having kids. You don't have to have kids, you know. It's not a requirement or anything. We just decided we didn't want to. Not everyone has those maternal and paternal instincts.

We just decided we didn't want to. Not everyone has those maternal and paternal instincts. It seems like it is to the Chinese. Drives me insane. I broached the subject with my wife, and just touched on a few benefits of not having children, and she fucking flipped out as if I told her I wanted her to never see her parents again or something. Completely selfish attitude. She wasn't even prepared to have the conversation.

Shouldn't you have had that conversation before getting married?

We did. But I wasn't serious about it when asking her then. I was just wanting to know her thoughts on it. She flipped out. Women.
