Thank you, Maverikk, im so sick of having to bite my lip when people slag off celebrities looks on the internet. Fact is, with all these perfect people online scrutinizing celebrities all the time - i wonder how they have time to pursue their modelling careers.

And Algren, i know of ONE person whos ever said Jennifer Garners looks manly off the net - he is a totall asshole who found himself being questioned about his sexuality after he found a fault with EVERY one of the top 30 most sought after actresses in Hollywood from an article we were reading. He said Julia Roberts looks like a horse, Sandra Bullock has a face like a plastic mould, Nicole Kidman looks like a demented ginger pixie, Jennifer Garner looks like a man, Kiera Knightly has a wobbly face, Julianne Moore was like a lesbian and Jennifer Lopez was fat. No wonder he dosent have a girlfriend then :p

Why do you seem to think you stand apart from everyone else in your perceptions of beauty -like your some sort of rebel against the system of presentation? Beauty is what you want it to be, just as i think one womans totally stunning, someone else thinks shes a plain jane.

Your making out like everyone else is so far inferior intelectually than you that we cannot make descisions for ourselves, its really condescending.

Am I smarter than everyone else, I don't like to think I'm superior.

But the fact remains that without a fleet of grooming professionals and marketing experts, these celebrities would be lost in the shuffle.

Are we talking about who we personally think are naturally beautiful or who is universally considered to be a natural beauty? There's a huge difference between the two.

And there's also a clear difference between natural beauty and canned beauty.

And you never answered the question poised to you.

If they weren't famous and you ran into them at a store, would you stand amazed in awe? Would you even know they existed?

And Mav, the notion of the athletic beauty is a separate one. Britney has an athletic body, so does Venus Williams and Hilary Swank, for that matter Grace Jones. But I doubt most men would chase after them if they weren't famous.

Britney the Burger King employee would be tossed out of Wilhelmina's office.

Yes, i would still find myself attracted to these women. Beauty is beauty, when i see a stunning looking girl in the high street ill stop and admire her. When this stunning girl enters my college class she can really affect me.

Man this whole thread is just such a sad statement about the attitudes of some dudes with issues who treat women like some sort of visual component.

Is it wrong that I don't find Paris Hilton or Britney Spears hot? I mean yeah, how dare I slag celebrities online.

Maybe because I'm not constantly in the public's eye (or considered a Greek sex god) has something to do with it. No, there is nothing wrong with me, a regular person, slagging a celebrity's looks. I mean, if I was Michael Moore slagging Tom Cruise as fat, yes, that would be wrong, but I'm the public, I'm what gives these perceived "hot" people fame. The public *can* criticize celebrity's looks.

I don't find Britney Spears or Paris Hilton hot because I don't consider girls with fake tits, tremendous plastic surgery and an amphibious face hot. Is there something wrong with me? No.

Garner's looks fluctuate from hot to man-face. The rest I'd bang, except Julia Roberts:

I think slagging peoples looks off, uglier or more beautiful than yourself, is just a shallow thing to do - its really bitchy and really immature, yet im sure the defense here is that its human nature .

Why make a big hoopla just beacuse you dont find someone attractive? I may not find you guys attractive if i saw you, would i run about broadcasting "Lyrik is a fugly mofo" ? no. The number of times ive read on these forums that "Jennifer Garner looks like a man" - is the ethic here that saying it as many times as possible will make it true, or will infect the people offline who think shes hot into agreeing with you guys? Point is, the greater general public considers these people to be beautiful, and sure you can disagree, but theres a line that is so often crossed that goes into damn right offending their fans and making women in general insecure.

Your entitled to your opinon, people dont like/care about it all the time, but your still entitled to it. Yet maybe a tad of maturity could help when broadcasting them?

How about the big hoopla you cause every time someone says something negative about a celeb, especially Garner?

Natural is debatable, I thought she got a boobjob of some kind when presenting an Oscar this year.

The guy in my avatar, that, sir, is natural.

Note how I didn't say beauty.

Because SOMEONE has to defend these people.

Maverikk is correct, it's mostly the internet. The average internet user is that same stereotypical nerd with black-rimmed glasses, gel hair, "Hello Kitty" t-shirt and the dim, dim light on their parent's basement ceiling. It's the people who have zero life (why else are we all here talking to one another?) who say stupid shit like "Jennifer Garner looks like a man" or "Britney Spears is a stupid slut". It's not a matter of their opinion, it's so they can rile up the Garner fans, the Britney fans, the Lohan fans, and any other sort of fan. These are the same people who don't bother calling a popular movie a bad movie, they must slaughter the movie with words, so those fanboys/girls come running along, get pissed off, and go off on their little tangents. I don't like Napolean Dynamite. I think Julia Roberts isn't very attractive. I believe it's okay to dislike the majority of primetime network television. I don't go off on everything I hate, because I'm not a complete asshole.

Algren, Snrub, and anyone else who enjoys picking on everyone else: just go right ahead and admit it's only for your own personal pleasure. There's not a single reason in the world to pick on Michael because he loves Jennifer Garner, other than the fact that you like being the assholes and seeing how mad Michael gets. I'm not denying that you don't find Garner attractive. It's all a matter of preference. But, there is no other reason in the world to call her a man, to say she's "fugly" (a word we can all do without), and to just insult the other person's opinion besides to get them pissed off. We all have done it. I have tried to get BKB pissed off by insulting AvP. I haven't done it often at all. We can all tell who are assholes, and who are not. I am one. Some can list one nice, big reason why from a few months ago. I can live with that. Rusty will call me one for different reasons. But seriously, do us a favor, and lay off the baiting? It was funny when Snrub first said Jennifer Garner was a man. It was funny when BKB went Hulk on everyone who hated AvP the first time. Now, it's old. It's tiring. Dead horses are even saying "Hey, do you mind? Trying to be dead here!".

Like I've posted many times before, Britney is part of a large group of young white celebrities who white people find attractive, when in fact they are quite ordinary, if not ugly.

If she worked at a Piggly Wiggly, I doubt anyone would pay her a second look at the register.

agreed, she has anice body, but face wise, Britney is pretty standard...I see girls who have a face as pretty and prttier then hers everyday when I walk around the college I attend. While I would nto consider Britney ugly, she is not particularly striking.

Does anybody REALLY wonder why the internet stereotype is one of a dateless guy living in the basement?

Just becuase Britney is famous is does not make gorgeous either. Arbrushing, makeup, a staff of people who are t heir to hide all imperfectiosn help alot. In Britney;s candid shots, she has a rather ordinary face. She has an amzing body, youc an see it when they s how clips of her dancing on her concerts, but her face is not all t hat special..its not striking. The girl is not ugly, but Icould pick a blonde girl off the college campus I work out, get her trainer, some reveling clothes and show you a girl as hot as or hotter then Britney.

Britney isn't ugly, but I do not see why I should find her all that special either, nothing makes her pop out, no really striking feature makes me think she is just the amazing gorgeous beauty, She is a girl with a nice body, a decent face, and a great marketing...none of which do I knock her for, but if I were to list the 50 most beautiful women in thw orld, Britney is not cracking that list.

Thank you for the female perspective Ripper.

Mav, X, and Mikey seem to think only men question whether or not these celebs qualify as natural beauties.

As for the internet, best selling books, popular tv, other mediums besides the internet have questioned the validity of beauty for some of these women.

The "40 year old typing away at his keyboard in his mother's basement" argument is a laughable one.

Since when couldn't three people be right? A majority answer isn't always the right one. The United States will argue that one.

woah woah woah !! EH!!

Is this the only defense people have anyone? Internet Stereo types? Cause if thats the defense being put up, let me blast my horn off.

I never knew people thought garner looked like a man on the Internet till Elektra came out and that too only cause a few people "HERE" and on RT mentioend it.

I've been hearing about garner looking like a man for a long time (when Alias came out) so don't give me this shit that its a freaking internet thing. Does this make her look like a man? I don't care ... my point is to get this internet stereotype defense out of your minds cause you're just fooling yourselves.

I'm honestly with Loyal on this one. Britney is cool (or well, was till a year or so ago), so is Lindsay and all of these other gurls ... but I do agree when Loyal once said that They're Wal-Mart pretty. It's the girl I'd check out at Wal-Mart as well and say, hey, shes cute and walk away.

The point being:
Its freaking marketing and all that puts these people over the top and makes them stand out more than they should from the average nice girl on the street. Take those girls you take for granted on the road that you caught yourself looking at for a little longer than you should have, throw them into magazines and make them perform the things these girls do and we'd be raving about them again. Thats just how it is.

For the record, paris hilton is thin as a stick and lucky for me, i'm into that. Not that I think Paris Hilton is worth defending but hey, I'd give her a second look. its not her that i find hot, its a bit of the attitude. Garner has a freaking hot body but facially, she has her days, and sometimes she doesn't.

The best post in this whole thread.

bABA hit it right on the head. If girls like Britney and Lohan and Garner were not famous, you'd see them in the store, think "Hey, kinda cute!", and then move on with your life.
