That was the only thing I really disliked about the BOM boards. When you got a PM, you were never notified. Here you get a nice little popup, and it tells you you have a message at the top rather than the bottom. It is one of the reasons I love this style board ... you can't ignore PM's 
As for Milestones ... we are well over 4000, and approaching 5000 posts and we are geting close to a VERY big milestone. 100 members.
