Front page, second major headline of my city's newspaper (Winnipeg Free Press)...

"Bush gets mandate for shift to right
More ambitious, conservative goals expected this term"

And, further in the article...

"So while the president reach out to defeated Democrats in his brief victory remarks yesterday afternoon, his aides and supporters were equally quick to suggest that his bipartisanship might not go far - and that they expect Bush's second term to pursue even more ambitious conservative goals than the first."

MORE AMBITIOUS conservative goals!! AHH!!!!????

Luckily, there are people like Arlen Specter in the Senate:

Specter urges caution for Bush
Discourages nominating anti-abortion judges

Thursday, November 4, 2004 Posted: 11:23 AM EST (1623 GMT)

PHILADELPHIA, Pennsylvania (AP) -- The Republican expected to chair the Senate Judiciary Committee next year bluntly warned newly re-elected President Bush on Wednesday against putting forth Supreme Court nominees who would seek to overturn abortion rights or are otherwise too conservative to win confirmation...

A lot of people around here were pissed off that Bush and Santorum endorsed Specter over Toomey in the primaries.

I wonder if they knew Elizabeth had cancer, but decided not to announce it until after the election? I'm not sure if it would hurt them in any way, but it seems kind of strange they both happend within a day of eachother. It is sad that she has cancer, though, but my Aunt had breast cancer, which was diagnosed early, and they were able to treat it. Hopefully this is the same case.

I'm for the women's right to choose... with limits on late-term (the last trimester) abortions (but allowing it, if life of a child-bearer is in risk...)

Told you Spectator is a bum. I've also mentioned before that the bastard knows who really killed Kennedy. Perhaps this actually belongs in a Wertham based thread

Thanks, didn't know he was on the commitee (but the Warren Report doesn't reveal anything "conspiration-worthy"...   )

On another note: What is it with these RINO (Republican-In-Name-Only)s and DINOs??? Do you know Senators/Congressmen being labeled as such???

Its not used as much in the House. But here are a few

RINO's= Areln Spector, Lincoln Chafee and Olmpia Snow.
DINO's= Joe Lieberman, Zell Miller

You can debate whtether or not these labels are true and whether more should be added, but these guys usually get the labels.

So basically you're saying the president has no obligation with 200+ million people in this country since they did not vote for him anyway and he should only be concerned with the 60 or so million that did. Way to bring the country together and pull it ahead.

Honestly, that's just stupid.,

And I'm realllly not purposely picking on your posts. Just, ugh, you make it so easy.
