What about Clinton holdover Henry Cizsneros who got the transportation job?

I like her, but I think we need someone else to lead the party right now. We need someone who will connect with the south. So women or minorities don't have a chance right now If I could have my dream come true I'd like to see a Hilary/Obama ticket in 2012 or 2016.

I would love to see Clinton or Obama run in 2008. But yeah, I know realiztically they wouldn't have much of a chance of winning because unfortunately too many people would still take gender/race into account.
It sucks, but its reality.
You have to keep in mind that a large reason for Obama winning in Illinois is that the African American population there is much much higher than it is nationally (and before someone twists my words around you know I mean when compared as a ratio to other ethnic backgrounds )
P.S. Edwards is like 52, I think.

I absolutely agree, they don't have a realistic chance to win.

Well guys...after about 15 minutes about thinking about it....I have decided in my opinion who would be the best for the Demo party in 2008.
Now in 2008 that will be my first election, so I will be excited!!!
Anyway, here is the IMO the best ticket:
Edwards/Obama 08
Now for anyone thinking that that decision is bad, then you may think that. I think Edwards is a Demo and will get the Demo states, and is a likeablt figure which will help. He is also from the south and could win some southern states. Obama would for sure get the African American vote, and I think many more minority vote. Also all the African Americans who arent registered to vote, and their are alot of them, would register and vote, and more then likely for the Edwards/Obama ticket. The money would not be a factor. Edwards could easily get a great amount of money, and Obama would get tons of support from African Americans, and democratics around. This ticket would be a good one IMO. I think in 2006 we will know who will be running.

YES!!!! We must start now!!!! Edwards/Obama!!!!!!!!!!!
I think that if Edwards wants to do well he will announce if towards the beginning of 2006, so he can just start campainging lightly, an start raising some money.
Anyway, any one else think Edwards/Obama would make a good ticket?
The Repubs best bet right now would be McCain/Giuliani, anyone think that would be a good ticket?

no,no, no.
All three plans look equally great
For what it's worth, a contitutional amendment to ban gay marriage will NOT happen. And if it by any miracle did, just like in history it always has, it would only lead to gay marriage being legalized some time after.
So I have no doubt that gay rights will one day be recognized. It's just upsetting that in the meantime we have to go through this.

For all you Obama '08 boys, I just thought I should remind you that he is only entering his first term now. It is a six year term. Even if people did not mind him being a one term senator (An issue some people had with Kerry), he wouldn't have even completed that said first term. He will be re-elected in an off-season election in 2010 and will have completed part of a second term before he even would have a slim chance of running. Honestly though, I think his term needs to wrap up on an election year, so we're actually looking at 2016 for him. But my *Master Plan (tm)* has him running in 2012 anyways, hence my signature.
-Dolce
Edit* Ashton, David, I want you to remember tonight you're just as much of America's future as anyone else. I have heard both of you make exceptionally insightful and well informed remarks that aren't just reactionary screaming for the past few months about many issues. I am encouraged by them. You two are depressed now, and believe me I am exactly the same. But I would be even more depressed if you guys, and many other members here, just ran around throwing about silly one-liners or chanting Victory, with a capital V, as though it was a football game. The elections may be about the numbers, but policy, identity, and the direction this nation has the potential to head towards are about strong, intelligent people like yourselves.

McCain yes, Guiliani no... Not that many people outside of NY know Guiliani...
Once he gets into Republican primaries, he'll be ripped apart as being too liberal when mayor of NYC... He was pro-choice (big no-no for a Republicans), he is divorced (talk about family values) and also Catholic (so hard for a Catholic to win trust/endorsement of the G.O.P.), just to name a few quirks that'll hold him down...
Anyway, many things might change between now and then, so it is kind of early to think of who will become frontrunner for the Republicans in four years...

The thing is that even a lot of Republicans aren't big enough bigots to support such a ban
I don't think it's gonna happen, but like I said, if it did things will eventually turn around anyway.
Just the fact that anyone needs to push for a gay marriage ban amendment shows that they are worried that it could be legalized soon. I can't find any other reason for it, since it's not like gay marriage is legal right now in the first place.
