Post March Madness
So the NCAA Tourney begins this week and tonight we will learn who makes the big dance. It should be an interesting tournament as again like the last three years there is no dominant team. I think probably 10-12 teams could win the national title. It should be a fun tournament.

32-1 isn't dominant?

Post Re: March Madness
You mean Syracuse, they are the weakest 32-2 team I have seen. And they have shown some weaknesses this season. The regular season mean nothing in the tourney. Kansas had a similar record a few years ago and got beat. Speaking of conference tourneys, two upsets just happened. Vanderbilt won the SEC title for the first time since 1951 over Kentucky, and Florida State won their first ACC title over North Carolina. I still contend this thing is up for grabs.

Edit

I forgot Kentucky was 32-2 as well. Still, to me Kentucky is benefited from being in the second weakest conference. They beat up on a lot of bad teams. They looked horrible this weekend, barely beating Florida and losing to Vandy.

Kentucky, Syracuse, North Carolina, and Michigan State are number one seeds. I thought Missouri had a chance but I think the Big 10 is the better conference so it gets the edge.

Only one real surprise for me in Iona. I figured Drexel would get in over them. I think st. Bonaventure winning the A-10 knocked out Seton Hall. I am not sure who to pick right now. I like Syracuse's path and I think Missouri can make a run.

Iona deserved to be in, I'm glad they got an invite. I think Wash should have been in over South Florida.

I never understood this train of thinking. The Big 10 teams played poorly against the Big XII teams outside of conference play.

Either way, both Missouri and Kansas have easy brackets, Kansas in particular will be playing practically at home throughout the entirety of their trip through the Midwest bracket.

It is some statical ranking that someone came up with ESPN? maybe. I know the Big 10 is ranked first, Big 12 second, and Big East third.

I wouldn't put Washington in. They didn't beat anybody, and Pac 12 is terrible this year.

Overall, I'm pretty happy with the selections. There could be even some great 1-8 matchups like Kentucky vs. UConn, UNC vs. Creighton, and both Memphis and Kansas State are highly rated by Kenpom efficiency ranking.

Maybe it's statistical, or maybe ESPN is bias in favor of the Big 10 (although not as much as CBS, the ACC is ESPN's clear favorite besides maybe the Big East, but it has been pretty hard to defend that conference lately). At least that is how people in our neck of the woods see it.

Fun fact, the Big XII is 5-1 versus the Big 10 this year.

Oh, and in the MidWest on ESPN, so many of them are dismissing Kansas if they match up against Georgetown...yet Kansas has already beaten GTown this year.

ESPN used to be very biased towards the ACC (Dick Vitale) and the Big East. Big East has had a down year, although they are still better than the ACC who really only has 3 good teams. The Big East has 4 good teams and a couple of teams who are talented enough to make some noise in the tourney.

Melo is out for Syracuse. I'm picking Ohio St anyway from that region, but now they should be even more of a favorite.

The refs made some bad calls in that game between the lane violation, goal tending, and an outabounds call.
