Pistons-Pacers brawl
Unfortunately just saw piece of it when Artest and some other pacers went into stands and started kicking some fan that throw a bottle(?) at him.
Will see more tommorow.
But if you saw it, post detailed recap. :=)

Wallace pushed Artest in the face, then there was a gang of people trying to seperate them, then at one point artest ended up on a table a fan threw beer at his face artest went out to whoop the dude, got alot more crazy they finally left while fans were throwing all kinds of crap at Pacers.

Ok here's a breakdown. Artest fouled Wallace hard during a layup and Wallace overrated and pushed Artest in the face. Benches cleared and punches were thrown but Artest was laying on the scoring table as everything was about to get back to normal. Then some guy throws a beer at Artest and Artest jumps into the stand and starts punching the guy who threw it at him. Other fans start to punch and grab and Stephen Jackson jumps into the stands and seriously kicks the shit out of about 10 Detroit fans. Then Artest is being escorted to the Locker Room and a fatass Detroit fan comes at Artest with his arms up saying fight me. So Artest punches him in the face and he goes down. Artest turns his back and the fan gets up and starts to charge at Artest. Jermaine O'Neal comes over and before the fan can reach Artest punches him in the face again. All in all a lot of fans got the shit beat out of them.

This is one of the most incredible things I've ever seen on live TV. And the punch O'Neal threw at the fan was so hard and with such a full force that I don't know how the guy actually remained conscious. I'm just speechless about the whole thing.
Well, one thing we know is that Ron Artest is going to get his previously-requested time off for sure.

I just got done watching SportsCenter, and those stupid pricks were trying to defend the Indiana Pacers and directly said they had no responsibility in this at all and their actions were justified.
I think everybody acted like idiots and trying to say one side was justified was moronic. The fans and players acted like idiots and share the responsibility on all sides.
It'll be interesting to see if any arrest warrants are issued.
I felt the worse for those fans that had no involvement. There were kids crying in the stands and an old lady who nearly got trampled to death. It was just a really bad situation all the way around. Hope the NBA comes down hard on all involved, and the Palace beefs up their security so we never see something like that again. It's just amazing nobody was seriously injured.

I don't care what anybody says because I've watched many replays. This was in no way shape or form the players fault.

Not a players fault! Hah.
Fans, security, and players are all at fault there.
What a hell was Artest thinking going into stands? Well, nothing. He was a nutjob even before.

What was Artest supposed to do. Let the guy throw something at him and get away with it. Once you physically do something to try to harm a player it isn't player vs. fan anymore. It's man vs. man.

Ron Artest should have never jumped into the stands to take on the fans. That's just idiotic. What do you expect to happen in that situation? Nothing good can ever come of that, no matter how inexcusable or idiotic the fans are acting.
You can NOT argue self defense, unless you have no idea what self defense is. Ron Artest was no longer faced with an immediate threat, and could have easily walked away after getting struck. The Palace Security or Police should have been the ones to deal with that fan. Artest was not in immediate danger when he jumped into the stands and started punching RANDOM fans (he didn't even attack the fan that threw the drink). There is no justification for that as you put innocent fans in jeopardy (including kids and the elderly).
Any visiting player that jumps into the stands and starts attacking fans - no matter what the situation is - will make a situation worse, as evident by this incident. Can you imagine if this was Philadelphia or Cleveland? They probably would have killed Artest. He's just luck the Pistons fans had mostly cleared out at that point and the remaining ones weren't the best fighters.
I'm in no way defending the fans, the burden fell largely at their feet. But, again Artest punching random fans was not right either. Period. Also, Ben Wallace's over-reaction and push of Artest was also very poor.
I find it funny that Artest would actually be justified in fighting Wallace, but chose not to despite getting pushed in the face by him. However, when a fan throws a plastic cup from 20 feet, he decides to attack. What sense does that make?

I'm not disagreeing with you, that particular fan deserves an ass whooping. It sounds great in theory, but it isn't a 1 on 1 situation when you jump into the stands like that. Artest and Jackson were punching random fans and were attacking fans that did NOT throw the cup. That's not right, and to defend them is assinine.
For any visiting player to jump into a hostile crowd in any arena in the country, you are not causing a good situation and it WILL go downhill into a full scale riot almost every time. It becomes 20,000 fans vs. 3 players regardless of who is right or wrong.

Ok I understand your point but after Artest punched the first random guy they only started going after guys who were punching the players. Plus, the first random guy WAS the one who threw the cup at Artest.
