Yanks all the way. The sox will blow it in the end though. Rusty predicts Yanks in 5.

Arg. Its so fucking boring.

2 teams in the AL EAST vs. 2 teams in the NL CENTRAL.

I hope Houston wins, though. That was an amazing run. Even if it is Bush country.

I'm really hoping Houston takes out Atlanta. I never liked Atlanta one bit. I should be watching that game right now!

Does that have anything to do with the old rival between Cleveland and the Red Sox? Cleveland would always have a better record in the 90s, yet, the Red Sox would always beat them in that first round...

Personally, I like the Sox more. NYC's a better city, and Boston-ites are more obsessed with the team (well...that's what I see in DC), but Boston has some players right now that developed through the minor league system, as opposed to the Yankees...

the indians beat the red sox in the first round in 1995 and 1998. the only year the sox beat the indians was in 1999. and that's after the indians blew a 2-0 series lead.

Torrino that statement makes absolutly no sense about the players being developed through the minor league system. Explain it cause I don't understand it.

You serious? It always seemed like the Red Sox beat out the Indians...I do remember that series in 1999 though.

BacktotheFuture, the Red Sox are more prone to develop players through the minor league systems. The Yankees, however, purchase le krem de la krem, which tends to be why (along with Torre) that they consistently have a good record and make the playoffs.

Yeah, in 1995 the Indians won 3 games to 0 and eventually lost to Atlanta in the World Series. They beat the Sox 3 games to 1 in 1998 but lost to the Yanks in the ALCS.

The Yankees have 4 players on there roster that were developed through there minor league system. (Posada, Jeter, Williams, Rivera)

The Red Sox have 3 (Varitek, Nixon, Youkilis)

So your arguement has no validity.

Lowe was pretty much raised through the Red Sox minor league system...But I guess you're right...

I think my point about New York's salary though IS valid. I'm not putting New York down here; I realize Steinbrunner is one of the ONLY owners who actually uses his money to build up a team. Peter Angelos sure didn't, until possibly this season (but look where that got us). If you look at NY's roster, you can't help but notice Brown, Lieber, Loaiza, Mussina, Rodriguez, Wilson, Lofton, Matsui, Sheffield, Hernandez, Gordon, etc. I respect Steinbrunner, but the line up's ridiculous.

Yes I get your point. But if the Yanks are the Evil Empire the Sox have to be the Evil Empire Jr.

Yankees overrated??!?!? How do you figure? Just having the 2nd best record in the league this year and having 26 Championships in their lifetime isn't enough for some people.
