Serena just won 6-2 in the third. So only one major upset today. On the plus side this means I no longer have to get up early to watch Wimbledon every other day, and all my energy can be used to cheer on Federer and wish for Brad Gilbert to fade into oblivion.

BUt heir matches agisnt each other ar enever very good, andin fact Venus has never been the same since she lost too her sister at Wimbledon. I actually don;t like to see them play, they both play sloppy, and its just ugly. They play better and fiercer against other people.
I miss the odl Venus, the won who wona nd came on court with that killer instinct.

Nadal and Henman lost. As a result, both their quarters are wide-open now with Sebastien Grosjean being the highest seed remaining in Henman's and Radek Stepanek in Nadal's. Serena is struggling again, but she could continue to do what Davenport did at French: just keep surviving.

At least he let them down in the second round instead of in the semis!

Yet another great win for Andrew Murray, taking out the 14th seed Stepanek in straight sets, he'll face Nalbandian next which will be a huge test for him against the former finalist.
Looks like a changing of the guard for British tennis, Henman/Rusedski out, Murray continues his good run.

No major upsets so far today, at most a higher seed player losing to a lower seed. Suppose Federer should advance, we'll have some good looking quarter-final matches.

Ladies Semifinals
Lindsay Davenport vs. Amelie Mauresmo
Maria Sharpova vs. Venus Williams
I want to see Lindsay vs. Venus in the final, because I think they only have a few more slam performances like this in them. I can see Amelie not showing up for her SF allowing Lindsay to take it 3 and 2 or something like that, I think the other SF will be the one to watch, and hopefully Venus will continue her fine form and take out Miss Sure Shot in 3.
Gentlemens Semfinals
Roger Federer vs. Lleyton Hewitt
Andy Roddick vs. Thomas Johansson
The worlds #1 and #2 ranked players face off in the top half semifinal, but I don't see it being close. Hewitt doesn't have anything to really trouble Federer. Sure he can get balls back that others cant, but Federer can put just as many, and even more, out of reach that others cant. Federer hasn't had any problems with Hewitt in the past and I see no reason for that to change on Friday. Federer in 3
The second semifinal will probably be a bit closer, but still result in a victory for the higher ranked player, Roddick. On grass Roddick is a clear #2 and shouldn't have any problems with the resurgent Swede. If Roddick has an off serving day or a slow start expect him to lose the first set, but I don't see how he loses this match. Roddick in 4.

Venus is going through. Beat out Sharipova in two matches. That's nice...see her back to old form. Seems she's avenging her sister's elimination eh?
Go Venus!

I hope Venus takes the title. She played incredibly well today, that was some of the best hitting I've seen since early Capriati/Serena matches. I really want her to do well, since in the past few years she's had a bit of a slump - I think she can turn it around here though, but it will be tough. She looks to be facing Lindsay Davenport in the final who is leading and up a break in the final set against Mauresmo, 6-7, 7-6, 5-3 (15-0) before it got called due to rain. I want these two to meet in the final, not only because it will be a good match up of heavy hitters but it will ensure the winner is one who hasn't had a major in at least 3 and a half years (Venus - 01 US Open) and that both are at the top of their games.

You realize that every single Serena Vs. Venus match was shit? Some might have gone to the 3rd set, but one side is always playing like crap during every set. Those matches seriously suck.

Boo! I wanted to see Maria Sharapova win. Grrrr...
She's one hot lass matey. I still remember the time I just happened to be watching tennis live (which I usually never do) on TV when she won the championship at Wimbledon last year. Very memorable.

Poor poor Lindsey, i so wanted her to win after the effort she put into hanging in that last set, but i was going to be happy whoever won, Venus deserves it too. Great final, really entertaining.

I cant believe i didnt watch Wimbledon this year. Im such a loser
I missed the finals when i watched L8.
Damn im pissed!
Maria Sharpova is beautiful and talented, and im impressed she made it to the semis after breaking through just last year - Proving shes not a fluke.
As for Venus - way to go. Its nice to see her getting one up on her sister.
Too bad Lindsey didnt win though - i had been rooting for her last year.

Im actually excited to see the mens final, but i feel Federer is a HUGE favorite.
